E250 CDI remapping!!!

Well this is it! Of course we always recommend you inform your insurance companies to any modifications to your vehicles. However the insurance companies themselves cant check.

An insurance company would need the tools to communicate to the vehicle, pull the maps data from the vehicle. Get the correct drive to read the maps due to being modified and then compare them with an original file.

What we have been seeing is insurance companies and brokers approaching us to see of we would test ECU's for them. But once again this is very rare and have only seen this two or three times.

NO WAY! Cheeky barstewards!!! I told my insurers about my remap on my old golf tdi 150 as it was increased by about 50 brake... It put the premium up by 17 quid!

On the original post I do like the new e class front... The new c class is going the same way!

A month in and must say still very happy. Crush the carpet and it goes very well with smooth progressive power and very noticeably faster. Out torqued (not raced ) a 59 plate 350, nice smug feeling.

The difference pre and post map is well worth the money and if I drive it like a vicar which I did just to see what happens I got 54.3 in 51 miles on stop start M25. Bear in mind I am only 5000 in so the engine has a while to go before it hits maximum efficiency/loosens up.

Would I do it again ... Yes, in an instant.

Sorry to bring this post back to life
But a few Merc specialist have told me that om651 isn't a good engine for remap due to weak oil pump and weakness of a single row timing chain

Has GAD tuning seen any issues after mapping om651 engines ?

Nothing to do with remapping .

Water pump more like ( original design issue ) and timing chain- oil service interval /stop start operational.

Remapping does not put any extra load on the chain.

How much do you charge for a stage 1 tune on a 2011 e250cdi
I'm from Huddersfield so it's a fairly long drive but because I've been told about your amazing work I wouldn't mind popping up for remap if it's a good price
