Good morning,
Well this is it! Of course we always recommend you inform your insurance companies to any modifications to your vehicles. However the insurance companies themselves cant check.
An insurance company would need the tools to communicate to the vehicle, pull the maps data from the vehicle. Get the correct drive to read the maps due to being modified and then compare them with an original file.
What we have been seeing is insurance companies and brokers approaching us to see of we would test ECU's for them. But once again this is very rare and have only seen this two or three times.
