Hi this is my first first and new to the site.

My CL500 electrics have stopped working on the drivers side door. None of the functions like the windows from the panel or the electric seat work for the driver side, but the window for the passsenger will go down but only from the passenger side door.

Checked all the fuses and everything seems ok, any one got any ideas?

Thanks

this will be a broken wire in the hinge area - extremely common on the 215 sadly - i suggest the earth wire most likely.

Ok just a update aswell, had a friend of mine come around who works for Mercedes, his some how managed to get the electrics working on the driverside door, he said it was a loose wire under the window controls.

But now the seats work but go ever so slow like moves a bit then stops for a second then moves again a bit and then stops, and same with the windows. Is this still dodgey wiring in the hinge area?

and yes if you can please forward me instructions would be a great help.

This could still be a poor ground wire,. and a voltage check needs to be done on the motors concerned

As further up in posts wiring at point where they are constantly bending as door opens, closes, cheap design. If proper wiring would be able to move in and out or door shell as the requirement to open close doors occurs. Wirth a decent radius loop in the door.

But a few extra mm on each wire costs £££

If you're testing and fixing the wiring yourself, then best to cut back the old wire from the break and add a couple of inches of new wiring so that the new joints are away from where the break point (and therefore bend position) was.

Xactly yr then sorting a maker shortfall. But failure mostly out of warranty period so hard luck.
