Then you need to be aware that its 30k for a new engine so i you do venture into M power land , get a good warranty pal
It's just thoughts at the moment, next week it could be a different car altogether. The problem is there isn't much that is a big enough improvement over the SL or the S5.

No , a mate mine who had a full bmw extended warranty found that out the hard way , hence me knowing how much the unit cost , he still ended up putting 6k of his own money in to the repair

I put some tax on the CLK last week. Middle of the month, I know!

Took the family out for a Father's Day picnic. Car looked so great in the sun I couldn't resist a couple of pictures. Maturing into its looks nicely.

Look at that small boy giving me the finger! I didn't notice at the time. He'll have to be punished for that.

It's curious, Mercedes seem to improve with the years. Maybe it plays to the nostalgia that takes over as we age.

Washed the car on Thursday then tucked it away in the garage. Dusted it on Saturday, then applied Liquid Leather to the seats, polished the wheels & Angel-waxed the windows. Today I drove it to the petrol station and topped up the fuel. I get so much pleasure from this car.

The next few sunny days will be delightful driving days.

Fitted the new battery to the Smart, then siliconed all the rubber seals.

That looks a proper pig to get out with all those wiring harnesses in the way and nearby.
It wasn’t actually too bad.

Unclipped the 2 harnesses from the hold down bracket. Undo the battery connections and lift away. Bracket then lifts up and out.

Only issue is that I had to remove All the under dash plastic knee guard with OBD port and 12v socket on to get enough clearance to lift it out. That was the difficult bit. I was expecting to lose skin whilst manoeuvring the battery out, but survived in one piece. :)

Smarts are pretty easy to work on, they’re just very compact and tightly packed (as you know)

Battery on the Roadster is very easy to get to.
Undo 4 twist fasteners and lift out the luggage bucket and the battery is underneath. One bolt for the hold down clamp, two cable clamps and lift out.

Upgraded to Amazon Echo Car, totally invisible and seamless integration hidden in centre console, it can still hear commands with lid closed so no fugly air vent holders required, streams unlimited music through spotify and now I can turn the tv on at home to my favourite channel, turn on lights and set the heating on my way home, perfect!
