Once you get your codes read, you will know what needs replacing, You are guessing otherwise.
If your car starts on the button, I doubt its the battery - thats an easy check with a voltmeter and a failed battery will give a different error altogether (if any at all).

Good luck and let us know hpw you get on.

Thanks
The garage I was supposed to be going to this morning as shut so I can’t get the diagnostics done

The car does start first time but the stop/ start as not worked for a while this is another reason why I was thinking it could be the battery
I will try and get it in somewhere else
Started it this morning warning lights were on , let it run for 15 mins turned off and on and the warnings have gone again

Where in the country are you? Maybe we can suggest somewhere open?

Morning all
With such nice weather and waiting for my car to be fixed I was wondering what all you lot use for detailing your paint work .
I’ve got all sorts of polish and wax’s in the boot but none seem to get that glossy finish
Do these nano/armour sprays on eBay work?
Thanks

Morning all
I’ve took my car to the garage this morning to have the sensor changed
The garage have told me that the car also need a hub ring
He says the the ring is the reason the sensor got damaged
Does this sound right ?
It’s £140 for the sensor and £75 for the ring fitted
Thanks in advance

Quite possibly as the clearance between ring and sensor is very small. What damage is there to the ring? Sometimes they start to rust and break (very common on Smarts).

Thanks for your reply
He hasn’t told me what damage there is to the sensor
I just wanted to make sure that what he is telling me is correct
When he plugged the car in last week it told him the sensor
Could the same happen if it was just the ring and the sensor is ok ?

Without knowing how he tested or what kit he's using impossible to say.

So an update everyone
Just had a phone call to say the sensor and ring hub as been fitted and the warnings lights are still coming on
The garage is telling me that the ABS pump can sometimes break if there is a surge when the sensor gets damaged so it now needs a new pump
He says he can get a second hand pump and code it to the car
My question is can this happen or as it happen to anyone on here?

Is this an MB specialist or a general garage?

Hello all
Quick update
Car still not fixed , still waiting to get the abs pump module to be coded to the car
I was coming home from work today and I hit something on the motorway this has damaged the under tray and when I pulled up at home I went to get out of the car and the door handle cable broke
So not having much luck with my first MB
Can’t seem to catch a break
First 14 months was problem free
But as soon as my warranty ran out it all went tits up

Hello all
This is my first Mercedes and probably my last after all the **** I’ve had
I’ve had all the services done properly and still more hassle.

I’m just ****ed off at the minute and will probably love the car one day but at the minute I’m sorry I ever set eyes on the thing

I seem I can’t win with it at the moment and throwing money at it
I loved the car when I first bought it in feb 2019 , I just want that feeling back

Ok rant over
You have all been great on here so thanks

Hello all
Car is eventually fix and all in good working order ( thank god)
It’s took around 2/3 months but got there in the end
Getting the love back for the car now
Might even give it a well overdue wash and polish at the weekend

Hello kev555
The sensor broke and sent a surge back to the abs module and then that broke
