ML270 2003
Hello all.
Can i ask the forum for comments on the following.
Our ML270 is due new tyres very soon ( i already have them waiting).
The tyres on the car are GOODYEAR and have been on there for almost three years and 20,000 miles.
The fronts and the backs have worn slightly more on the inside edge, so was considering a four wheel track as local garage have the Hunter system.
BUT, is this normal wear for a large ,heavy 4x4 ?
By the way, it drives fine, no pulling or drifting.
Cheers

Can't specifically talk about the ML/GLE but I've had a few SUV's (Current XC90 on 15k miles), and I've had easily 30/35k miles. The current XC90 at 15k miles tyres are hardly 10% worn. I'd certainly get the tracking and alignment looked at given the wear you are seeing

It may be worth you contacting “Wheels in Motion” in Chesham, as they seem to be the ‘go to’ people for geometry set up on MB, many places will just dial in a book figure from MB, which may not always be the best for UK cambered roads.

I live in the sunny south east.
The garage i may use have the Hunter System and seem to know what they are doing (you can only trust feedback so much)
I suppose for £60 its worth doing, and that includes a before and after printout and any adjustments required.

John.
Thanks, the inside bit of the tyre is about 1mm off the wear indicators, but the middle and outside have about 4-5 mm left, so you may be very correct.
I thought 20,000 was quite good, but always stand to be proved wrong.
