I put a full set of Brembo discs and pads on my car last year. Done 3000 miles since. I drive like a nun and do no hard or high speed driving. My commute is 1.5 miles each way.
Fronts have warped. Became obvious a few weeks ago after a very rare trip up the motorway.
Won't be buying Brembo again.

Same here. Mercedes OEM for 213 AMG styling pack is brembo. Warped discs all over the place

This is the second car and third set of brembo disks I’ve had warp so won’t be having them again.

If the Merc ones warp I'll condem them to death .

Lol, a little harsh but justified I guess.
Looks like I’ll be giving ATE a try this time, just going to give ECP a couple of weeks for one of their daft %off offers to come up, I’ll have to take a look at low dust pads now too as I’m sure the existing ones will be trashed

I must be unusual, 58K on my 212 still on the original discs, pads changed at 37K.
Two CLK's sold at 120K & 115K, only one set of front discs on both.
The wife's 171 200K sold at 90K, only one set of front discs.

My old 211 had one set of disks in the 120k miles and 6 years I had it so not unusual to last a good amount of time, I know the current ones are likely fine just no longer the correct shape

If you’re replacing discs always replace pads at the same time otherwise the wear on the pads from the old discs will be replicated in the new ones.

I’m exactly the same. Warp started when I actively used the distronic for peak traffic when travelling back home. I would think that all the stop start traffic was too much for the car. Funny as I’ve never experienced it in any other vehicle.

I’ve fitted genuine discs and pads but dealer just says they can’t guarantee on fitment so the 2 year warranty is pointless. Just going to get the dealer to fit them as I can just bring it straight back when it warps again. I got a good discount and although it’s a bit pricier; the 2 year warranty actually stands

I use Distronic all the time and have yet to have an issue.

that's a name from the past! Knew them for commercial parts more than cars to be honest, their stuff was decent

Yeah, running since 1903 reading up a little, may be worth a punt as it’s around £40 cheaper compared to Pagid/ATE

I use Brembo on most of my cars and never had a problem. Last year I put a set of rear Brembo disks on my Audi S5 and have not had any issues.

My early MBs used to suffer from warped discs, since I started to get into the habit of braking my speed down to about 95%, release then reapply to stop and only use the parking brake once stationary (especially when exiting a motorway), I've never suffered the problem again.

I think that most issues are caused by pad pressure on the discs as they cool from a high temperature - some will be pad material transfer, but also any uneven application of pressure will encourage the disc to warp.

This is the exact thing I normally do when driving. My judder issues only came about when using the distronic functionality which, in my observation uses the brakes a lot more than I would. I don’t blame the system as it goes off what it knows.

I’ve always used Brembo without an issue. The last set I bought though I have concerns that they are genuine.

The box had no hologram seal or QR code on the label.
I wonder how many issues could be from non-genuine parts?

Just to jump on back of this, think I’ll need to do the brakes on my CLS.. sitting around more due to covid and all that stuff.. when I take a right turn I get a whooshing on and off noise...

checked and the discs are heavily lipped front and back.. only 40k miles :rolleyes:

who other than eBay (never sure get right stuff) ecp (never sure will get right parts either o_O) are recommended... I’ll try and avoid Merc unless no more expensive as I’m not exactly flush for car spending due to covid...

Always worth checking with MB Grangemouth.
