Hi all
New to forum, and new to MB ownership. Previously a life long Land Rover owner, now took a punt on a 2017 E220d estate, but sadly issues already (used to that with LR!).
Purchased car and aircon wasn’t blowing cold, dealer regassed and I drove away assuming all was ok....(I know, first mistake!). Subsequent problems are aircon still not blowing cold, engine cooling fan running full pelt constantly and eco start/stop not working, however start/stop does work again if aircon is switched off.
I’m assuming these issues are all related to a sensor or something similar? Any suggestion gratefully received. Dealer has agreed to pay for repair (we live a distance from where we purchased from) so at least that’s a start....but want to point garage in the right direction!
Thanks for your help in advance!

Check the condition of the main battery it should be 12.6V engine off and circa 14.5V engine running a failing battery can cause all sorts of issues

Fan running full tilt is often a symptom of low a/c gas pressure.
If the gas pressure is ok when measured the pressure sensor may be faulty or have a bad connection.

Where abouts are you because we may be able to point you to a good independent MB specialist?

it is not uncommon for start/stop NOT to work with the aircon on, as its activation will effect the aircon, so might be a red herring.

As your aircon does not work the aircon system is working full-pelt to bring the temp down, but cant, so the start-stop never becomes active - engine always runs.

All aircon problems I have ever had relate to the aircon rad (condensor); this is usually the first rad you see when you look through the grill. Get yourself a UV lamp and uv specs from ebay and look for pinholes in the rad caused by stones and the like making their way through the grill. There is usually a dye in the aircon gas so holes will glow green under UV and 'bubble' very slightly.

The aircon system can still (attempt to) run even with low gas (might not yet be low enough to trip the pressure switch) but the system will not cool as there is insufficient gas to actually allow this to occur.

replacing a condensor is easy - you will need new receiver-dryer too.

Thanks everyone
Very much appreciate the advice.
These issues are reasonably minor I suppose. Having never owned an MB before - on this model, or generally are there any common issues I should look out for, and any out of the ordinary upkeep to prevent any problems?
Thank you

Smart + others :)
Fan running full pelt is a symptom of too high pressure. Either faulty pressure sensor or too much gas.
