Hello
I floor the accelerator but it still takes at least 5 seconds to go from 0 to 20MPH. From 20 to 50MPH it seems to be OK, but I feel it's still slow when compared to when it was working fine. From 50 to 60MPH it seem to take at least 10 seconds, all this albeit I still have floored the accelerator. The experience is similar to trying to accelerate from stall in 5th gear (manual car)
Any clues please
Thank you all
Stay safe

Yes it changes gears when it hits 20MPH and so forth but it takes aforementioned times to change gears

Spark plugs were replaced a year ago but the rest haven't a clue;I have owned it for the past four years and probably driven about 4000 miles

Do you have a timing light to check ignition timing?

For probs like this it's worth getting the car to one of the MB Indys (Independents). We have a few such members on the forum and they are very well versed in all things MB and often give advice and guidance. They save people a lot of £olly not only through much more reasonable rates but due to their knowledge and experience.

If you add a location on your profile, somebody will be able to suggest who to contact.

Well its your call; but if you ht system is shot,,or some parts in it then they will need replacing,, thats the first set of items they will replace .That will put the first £250 on the bill .. And this is a job you could do yourself for 1/2 the price . 90% of problems boil down to electrical ht faults. I thought this forum was to help owners do jobs themselves . And to save money .Once the ht side is bought up to scratch you could forget it for another 5 years or more.

The forum is here to offer whatever assistance members can offer.

Your suggestion is very valid but the OP initially asked for a garage or mechanic i.e. it looked as though he’d exhausted his own options.

IMO therefore, in the absence of another member/volunteer the best and potentially least costly suggestion was and still is to contact an Indy.
