B service and Auto fluid change today.

Cars in for a B service and Auto gearbox fluid change today at my local indie.

Cool, try and get a pic of the gearbox sump and magnets if you can. What else is done on a B service?

Just got car, back, £480 said I need 2 New air filters and a fuel filter, slight play in front wheel bearings. Told him to get the filters, wheel bearings don't need doing straight away.

Quite a lot of non-Mercedes specialist garages say Mercedes have slight play in wheel bearings. That is how they’re supposed to be.

No, Wighty, it's the first time they've serviced it.

Depending how long you want to keep the car, look at the service plans, I just got 3 services for my R class for 900.

re the air filters. mercs generally have a 40k mile replacement time for air filter.

Air and fuel filters are time/mileage dependant and are an extra charge, not sure on the mileage limit as we never do enough, but it's 4 years for both my cars (and my previous S203). It's only the pollen filter that's an included part of a B service (plus of course the oil filter that gets changed on both A and B services).

Car goes in today for 2 air filters and a fuel filter fitted, and the front wheel bearings adjusted, also I'm going to mention the engine fan, last night after shall we say a spirited drive the fan came on, it never has before in the 27months I've had it, and this morning when I started the car it came on again and stayed on, so I'll ask him about that.
