Hello fellow owners. New to this forum. Hope to contribute and post DIY maintenance advise in the future. In the process of buying a used W221 S350D. If you have a nice one with less than 100K on the clock, please let me know.

Welcome and nice choice of car just make sure you buy with the 9 Speed gearbox much better than the 7 speed of the earlier cars

Thanks for the welcome. The W221 was only released with 5 speed and later 7 speed gearbox. The W222 was first to use the 9 speed gearbox ;)

Welcome I have a E350CDI, if I ever change it will be for a W222.
Be aware they do a long wheelbase version, I know it won't fit in my garage.

Hehe, yes I know they are big. Looking for the SWB version which Autotrader/dealers seem to mix-up with the LWB sometimes, (on purpose I'm sure). Still on the hunt for a good SWB :). Old car was a ML63amg.

Thanks. I'm looking for the Short wheelbase version. W222 is tempting and I see a few options around 15K starting to pop up. I personally think the W221 is slightly less complicated and more reliable than the W222 at this stage. Plus I can save +- 7k or more..

I was going to say you will need big boy pants for the S class , but as you have had an ML63 you don’t need manly advice from me buddy
