Ha Ha Ha,,Wighty !!! :D:D:D. No, I don't think so, at least not for the moment, According to the service history, it's not due it's next change for quite some time, so I'll leave well enough alone. i briefly removed the plastic engine cover, as I wanted to check if the dipstick tube still had the original black tab,,,or it it had the red one... Its the GA - Automatic : 722908 07 747099 722.908 W 7 C 700, so I presume that its the 7 speed trans? Anyway, I was unable to find the trans dipstick tube. So completely new to me, for now at any rate,,, I drove the "old" one this morning for a few hours, and I'm still wondering if I'm doing the right thing.... But I remember having the same thoughts when I bought my first MB, two and half year's ago..now I'm glad that I did, So here's hoping that time will prove that I have made the right move this time too..
Yep thats the fill from below 7g :D . Enjoy the new car , we will expect pictures , but you knew that

Sure, no problem for the pics, but as for checking the oil level.....drive to warm up the transmission, up on a lift or over a pit, check temperature, remove drain plug...if nothing comes out,,,top up, until something does drain out, leave until it stops, replace drain plug??? New learning curve about to start, I think......:geek:

That's sort of encouraging Wighty !!!:):):) But a quick question ( sorry if its in the wrong place ) The new MB which I am about go and collect in the next half hour or so, has its own SatNav,,,,,so how does it work in MB ?: Is it on a disc ( like in Skoda) ? As its a 100 mile round trip, I am trying to cover all the bases now. If it works, that means that it has it's disc ( but will probably need upgrading ) and I don't have to get the dealer to search for it? or else its a non -disc internal system??:geek:

If the car has Apple Car Play I wouldn't worry about the MB system.
I use the Waze app or Google maps on my Apple smartphone and it all transfers over to the car system seamlessly, as does the phone, messaging etc. :D
I think I'm right in saying it'll work with Android too but not 100% on that

You’ve probably found out by now but a 2010 car would have an internal disc system and is far to early to work with CarPlay.

The 2010 E class is now gone. Srdl,.. about 2 hours ago in fact, have just driven its replacement 50 miles from dealer to home. Its an 2014 W212 220 E Class. So would this car have car play or similar?? Still finding my way around in it. First impressions ar that it's much smoother than the previous E class,,,and that was a smooth car to drive too. Will know a bit more after a few day's.. but so far, so good !!! :D

Sorry - not paying attention (again!). 2010 was a definite no but 2014 may be possible. Probably not original fitted but there are various retrofits available. The guys at Comand Lightwater can advise.

These people have also had good feedback on various threads.

I collected the car today from the dealer Wighty, but the pics I took do not do justice to the car ( miserable rainy wet cloudy dirty kind of day) I'll take some better one's when the sun is shining, and I have washed the travel grime off. Its black so while the nicest looking color on a car ( INMHO) its a nightmare to keep clean ( SOB SOB.....my old beige /gold metallic MB, that always looked well, grime or not  o_O) but one pic I am posting, its a small black box plugged into the OBD reader, with Mercedes Benz written on it, ( see pics ) Any ideas as to what this "Black Box" does? :geek:

That the Mercedes me adapter, it’s a few interesting uses in the facelift car but I think it’s still quite limited and drains batteries a bit too

It’s a tracker that notes your every move and how you drive so they can deny any warranty work and reposes your car if you don’t keep up the payments...

But on the other hand, I connected the iCarsoft CR_PRO to the OBD, and ran a scan. Everything showed up fine, no fault code's. Now thats a good start,I have to admit. Lots of new service parts fitted as needed according to the service history. Next Engine Oil and filter change due in or about Feb 2021. Ditto Transmission fluid change. So 6 mths or so to enjoy.:)

Better update the vehicle details in your profile or I’m going to get confused again!
