Apparently "the system" auto completes certain information, including the Make & Model of the car from central record held by the DVLC, note not DVLA.
I sympathise with your ongoing problems.....it must feel like you are banging your head against a brick wall at times.
I am puzzled by your DVLC reference though.
As far as I am aware this is what the DVLA used to be known as - Driver and Vehicle Licensing Centre became Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency.

Naturally correct me if I am wrong. :)

This will be an error with the DVLA and who ever entered the info in thier system. The MOT centres pull the info from that system. Speak to DVLA when you get the log book. There is a part there to ensure all info is correct.

Interesting to read this thread as my SL55 is registered as a Saloon for body type

"The Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and the Vehicle & Operator Services Agency (VOSA) merged some years ago and is known as the Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency, or DVSA, not to be confused with the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) which remains separate."

The DVLA who deal with registration & taxation have my car correctly described as an SL.

The DVSA who are, amongst other things, responsible for MoT testing, apparently & amazingly, have a separate database and my car shows on that database as an SLK.

I can't believe that this was finger trouble on the first time the car was MoT tested, I would have thought that the DVLC database would be populated from the DVLA Database !

Spoke to a friend last night who had a similar problem a couple of years ago, apparently it's not uncommon!

Even the DVLA car info is not up to standard. Take a look on the howmanyleft.co.uk website at SL's and see how many different descriptions there are for the same car.

Flowrider, you are, of course, correct.

Here's what howmanyleft.co.uk has to say:-

An update ...I have received an email from the DVSA - slight progress:)

"Thank you for your email enquiry dated 10 August 2020, concerning an MOT.

We have forwarded your email over to our MOT replacements team in order for the necessary amendments to be made.

They will contact you back directly once this has been actioned."

I'll update again as & when action has been taken.

I'm pleased to say that I have heard from the DVSA saying:-

I have been able to access & print replacement MoT certificates back to 2018 but the DVLA website doesn't permit one to print older certificates!

A good thought. However it appears that the way the records are presented changed between 2017 & 2018.

As you can see I can view (& print) the 2018 test certificate, but not the 2017 (& earlier) certificates:-
