DPF Regen on SLC250d

I am always aware of a regen on my E350CDI, exhaust note changes, revs go up, consumption goes down.
We have had the SLC250d 6 months now but I have never been aware of a regen. Is the regen done in the same way on a SLC, is there any indication of it occurring at all?

I don't know about any other model but there is no indication whatsoever from either in the cab or outside of a regen in progress with my 204 C220CDI, it needs live data read with a scanner to see the current status.

I have never had any indication that my E250 has done a regen. Once I thought I smelt a rubber burning type smell and the footwell was feeling hot. Other than that nothing.
I was driving our 2020 sprinter today and in the menu it had a DPF fill level which was at 6% I thought why shouldn't more mercs have that.

The newer ones do a regen much more often and it can be hard to determine when its doing it. Much better than the older or larger engined cars.
