An old B-Class.
Presumably Bathurst? An unreal circuit with big elevation changes.
Ian.
Actually Mt Cotton near Brisbane...... Bathurst would have been awesome. I always wanted to go there but did manage the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide (the old F1 Street Circuit).

Ah. That's different. I live about 40km from there. Chalk and cheese compared to Bathurst. I've been to a couple of GT3 races at Bathurst with the Benz competing. Scary circuit. Drove it once at normal road speed and just couldn't believe that one could race on it at superhigh speeds. Gives one a different perspective for sure.

The Aussie V8's at Bathurst is the one race I try not to miss. The best Touring Car series in the world at one of the best circuits in the world :)

Next year (Covid depending) I want to see the N24 at the Ring, as its not only the 24 hour race, but the Festival at the sides around the entire track. looks amazing in videos :)

It always makes a good video when a car overtakes everything in sight. I see a few of you going weak at the knees...
But its still not as quick a lap time as a certain non sports car 5 door family saloon that doesnt handle !
Yeah i knoiw where the door is !

There was one of those there when I went in the 911, he didn’t make a full lap... got it recovered to the paddock (he didn’t crash) it then left on a flat bed... I drove to the ferry and then home.:p:D

Ah ok.

Driving 500 miles, then immediatly doing a Lap of the Ring would have been fun in a Tesla. (over 2 days of course, once it had charged and you managed to find a charging point at a random service Station).

Then charge it again before heading to Belgium, Holland and back again. Would have added another 2 days to our trip.

Tesla model 3 on the ring here:

Fast, but terrible handling, brakes and build quality.

Might be sooner than you think. I reckon my next town car will be electric. Keep an ice for longer trips but the elec car will do most of the mileage each year.

Simply not true.

Tesla Model 3 can get 80% charge in 20 minutes from a Supercharger, of which there are many in continental Europe, including one at Nurburgring.
So 2 stops each way of 20 minutes does not make 2 extra days.

Tesla model 3 has a max range of 250miles (at 100%). On a motorway (for which the entire trip is) this is reduced to around 140miles as the current electric cars are terrible on high speed drives for long periods of time, check all reviews and videos on this subject.

The entire trip is over 550 miles, so thats 5ish stop offs for 80% charge each time - if infact the stations are free, so that means in an ideal world you are going to need this just to make it there.

Once at the Ring, you have to charge again to do a full lap. So you are looking at around 3 hours + added to the trip, if you can even get onto a Supercharge. One at the Ring.

We had to get there for 4pm after leaving home at 5am.

ED the petrol station at the Ring generally has a queue of about 3-4 cars at any one time for the 4x pumps they have there. So if there are more than 1 electric car using it, you are screwed.

Again, 10 years time we will have the technology and infrastructure, we are nowhere near this at the moment dispite what all the governments and marketing depts want you to believe. Electric cars are only currently viable for around towns.

So yes, it would take 2 days each way.

Wasn't there some issue recently where Supercharger points were being turned off wholesale by Tesla? I read it on tinterweb so must be true.

Are those real experience figures or guesstimates?
Having had a good trawl on Tesla owners groups and other sources your 140 miles must be for a base model 3 as the others seem to be nearer the 200 mile mark at 80mph.
Even so, allowing 3 hours extra isn't an extra day.
