Hi All,

Bought a *2015 C207* ( E Class Coupe 220CDI AMG Line) today.Service hadn't been done for 18months so 6months past due and 13,000mls over the 15,500 :-(

Guessing she could do with a B service as it is past due and as its 5 years old a gearbox oil and filter change.

Any reputable Merc Specialists garages in East London that's recomendable and will use proper parts and oil but still be cheaper than main dealers. Don't fancy going Dartford as my pocket has enough space in it from the purchase then insurance :) was worth it though

Bit of a lean area for MB independents , as above , AMF will save you a lot . Where into East London are you ?

A good indy is worth its weight in gold, we see it many times here of people not taking their car to a specialist and shelling out on parts until one solves the problem or doesnt at all. A good indy has the experience to diagnose correctly saving you a fortune in the long run.

As mentioned above Alex is well regarded here (not used personally) and contributes to the forum.

Not sure how long a run to Alex would take you, but the oil will be nice and warm for a drain :)

Thanks for the references guys! Unfortunately, whilst competitive on price, we couldn't fit NomadTrucker in quickly enough. I hope he has been sorted in the meantime. Maybe next time :)

Could you find enough work to keep a mobile fitter in operation Alex? Just a thought.

I tried going mobile initially, but it has its own set of challenges.

Having a van with all your tools on it is really had, and not having access to ramps or any large equipment is difficult.

Also, I found motor trade policies hated covering mobile mechanics, not sure why. Gave up on that idea a while back (the website is still up on mobilemercs.com) we still get a few enquiries a month but direct them to the workshop.

I was thinking for strictly mobile servicing only; oil, filters, brakes pads etc and minor repairs.

Example- the small town where I live, every day on the town voice Faceache page there are 2-3 people asking for someone to service their car on the driveway. I’m sure there are more than that not asking... it would be an added value offering if nothing else.

Quite possibly, I'd need another guy with a van et, High initial costs.

When I did it, I had mostoy requests for diagnostics or repairs, very little for servicing surprisingly!

Well if there’s one thing that’s true, you can rely on customers to be awkward and ask for work other than what you’re offering!!

Thanking everyone for their contribution, as Alex is definatly a number to keep for the future but based on work commitments I just needed somthing a little sooner. His reviews and recommendations speaks volumes - 5* - for anyone looking in the future.

Found out some info from the main dealer although I won't be servicing from them. The car has services (Which I will need to apply for ) not listed on the access indys can see, so their are two platforms the servicing is saved on. The beloved indy platform and the Mercedes servicing platform. For anyone wondering in the future.

I’m not sure I believe what your dealer has told you, based on what our tame indys here have said- most of whom have served their time in main dealers!

I thought he was talking out has exhaust pipe also. I've sent off for the digital service record FOC so Mercedes main dealers have probably made me a indy customer for life no doubt.

Let me know if you found anyone in East London or Essex.
