reccomend that ,i followed it ,it deffo works ,tho in my case i carried it out anyway,it was not leaking ,if as in my case you find no corrosion its real easy to do on a nice weekend, about a day if yr in no hurry. then lift yr pump into a ,in my case 5mm polystrene tile in a zip plastic freezer bag, if water ever did get in again ,the pump is safer.

Hi, Do you have any pictures of your fix? Can I do the plastic bag fix with the PSE as well?
Thanks

Hi
I'm sorry, I don't have any more photos apart from the ones I posted previously.
With regards to putting the PSE in a bag, my view is that as long as you make sure it is perfectly dry, then putting it in a well sealed bag makes a LOT of sense
Cheers

Just FYI as it hasn't been mentioned (I think) there are two concertina drain tubes that run from the rear window channel down into the rear wheel wells, inside the top left and right corners of the boot. This can be disconnected/displaced, and can cause water to back up and leak out, or just pour into the boot.

I always check mine every now and then.

You don't happen to have any pictures of their location do you?

I've cleared the ones on the outside near the C pillars. Are the ones you're talking about on the inside of the boot?

Thanks

You can't miss them, just look on the left and right under the seal.

Yes they are inside the boot, you can't miss them, the tubes are about six inches long, and 3/4" diameter, on my 2004 car. What year is you car ?

2009 I've found them and they appear to be doing their job ok.

I acutally think I've sorted the leak. Horrendous rain today here and the paper towels I have placed where I'd expect leaks show no sign of water. They are a little damp however I'm still using the towels in the boot which I've never dried properly so I think I may have done a good enough job to perhaps have solved my problem for now.

This includes having taken the car out this morning in the rain so it's not just been sitting stationary in the rain.

Fingers crossed.

OK Good, keep an eye on it, I always check my boot if the car has been left out in the rain, even though it never leaks, there is always a first time.

i did mine 7 years ago as per televisions instructions, used loctite 5910. Has not budged, good as the day i did it.
The quality of your seal will be dependent on surface preparation.

Had seals done on mine around 4 years ago no leaks ,but I do put a half cover over it when it’s on drive for weeks also get a good trickle charger for battery in boot worth every penny
