Hello all
Hope everyone is ok and staying safe
I bought my car around 2 years ago and when I started the car from cold and put it in drive the car would jump/ pull forward slightly but when the car warmed up this would go away

I’ve just gone on a short drive ( 20mins ) and I notice when parking up the it still doing it .

I tried it about 5 times and it did it on every try

My question is , is this a problem on its way ?

It had a gearbox service around 1 year ago

Any advice would be greatly appreciate
Thanks

Probably a silly suggestion but are you applying your brake fully? My mum has a similar problem when she got her new car and she just had to be heavier on the pedal... perhaps the brake needs looking into... just a thought

Hello thanks for your reply

Maybe I described it wrong
It’s more of the car pulls forward
It doesn’t move because I have my foot on the brake but it feels like it’s really trying to

Either engine/gearbox mounts, or your torque converter is dragging.

Either are pretty easy to confirm with the correct diagnostics :)

Torque converter can be, depending on what component has failed (lockup solenoid or converter itself) engine/gearbox mounts are not massive money, 250/350 ish all in.

Thanks
The car drives great
Wouldn’t a bad converter cause more than just this problem?

Yes, quite possibly, but we can only glean so much information from one post :)

Hello all
Got in the car this morning and still the same and even after the car warmed up
So I was sat in the car going back and forth and I put the car in neutral and left my foot off the brake and put the car in drive.

To my surprise the car just moved off normally, I did this a good few times and no problems

I then put my foot on the brake and put the car in drive and no problems at all , not sure what happened but the problem seems to have gone

I’ve just be out to the car to put on the drive after around 3 hrs and still great

Anybody any idea what’s happened?
Thanks
