Mercedes service stamps always had the name and address of the dealer on them. Not seen just a star and Mercedes stamp in any of the service books I used to have...This is the book
the first two stamps appear to be MB
And the last stamp is of the garage where I purchased the car from.
Dunno why the third pic was incomplete. Have posted it again seperately
Oh my god I could cry right now!!!That is certainly looking like a fake MB stamp I am afraid...usually they would have dealer name and address and not just a MB logo. As said above that looks a copy stamp bought online....no branch details and no details no what has been done by looks of it...the car has no service history.
Speak to the dealer, ask for a refund, threaten legal action, etc.
Or, if you are happy with the car, spend some money get a full service done and chalk it down to experience.
Why would a finance company devalue a car by not sharing service history???The car belonged to a finance company. It was on finance when it was then written off and sold to the insurance Approved garage (which is where I bought it from).
I read that finance companies have the service histories and they don’t share them due to the data protection act...
Don’t do that, the car isn’t as described as the service history isn’t correct therefore take it back to the dealer for a refund if you’re unhappy.Oh my god I could cry right now!!!

In the advert it said full service history. I could take legal action now right? I did get the dealer to sign a printed copy of the advert and sign printed copies of all our texts where he was confirming everything mentioned in the advert. He stamped and signed them all. So I do have proof. I also have a letter-headed invoice. That is certainly looking like a fake MB stamp I am afraid...usually they would have dealer name and address and not just a MB logo. Or perhaps it was a finance company but they chose to service it outside the MB network...this is certainly possible. In which case, just get a service done now for your peace of mind and don't worry about it! Trying to put positive spin on it!
How much would a service cost me?Or perhaps it was a finance company but they chose to service it outside the MB network...this is certainly possible. In which case, just get a service done now for your peace of mind and don't worry about it! Trying to put positive spin on it!
This is what the dealer has just said to me after I asked him about it all...Or perhaps it was a finance company but they chose to service it outside the MB network...this is certainly possible. He would assume...This is what the dealer has just said to me after I asked him about it all...
I don’t think he will agree to that... and I Gave my suzuki swift in part exchange too which he has probably dismantled by now... even if I drove 2 hours to get there, I probably won’t have a car to get back home... I’ve never used public transport before for such long distances ... this is becoming quite the nightmare. He would assume...
If it was sold as full service history then sufficient and reasonable proof should be provided to back up the claim.
Take it back for a full refund
