Good afternoon,

Decided to try get my car running right and had the AA read and clear my fault codes today, these are the faults I’ve been given..

Any advice on where to start would be a big help..

Thanks

were they pending or stored?

check intake swirl flap motor is moving the flaps, flaps are attached, check tubo arm is moving when revving. Check no splits/leaks in boost pipes, no vacuum leaks in egr and turbo control unit vacuum line.

I think they were stored, I’ve been having problems with it going into limp mode when it’s warmed up then restarted.. it was constantly in Limp mode a few months ago but bought a used MAF to try and it worked fine for a few weeks, not back to limp mode when warmed and restarted..

He ran the live data when it was running and he said the reading from the MAF was a lot higher than it should be so I’m guessing that’s faulty.. seen a Hella one at ECP that I might have a go with and see if that improves things..

a good indy is where to start

Seems to be common advice but not within my budget at the moment, hence why I’m asking for advice from more experienced owners so I can try fix things myself.. I can do a lot of the work myself, just need advice from people who may have experienced the same issues

Guessing and buying secondhand parts will cost you more than having a proper diagnostic session with a Mercedes indie. At least they could point you in the right direction.

Throwing parts at merc and guesing till one magically fixes the issue is a sure way to burn money.

Limp mode can be caused by many many things. e.g faulty turbo, faulty actuator, leaking pipes (many of those), a failed pcb, so on and so on.

So start changing all those things you get peeved at the car and its not the car playing up its the owner.

Cheap car code readers are only as good the user. They give an area to investigate and don't pinpoint.

A good indy is worth gold in these scenarios, pinpoint, diagnose and fix.

Just my tuppence. Seen many people doing guesswork / diagnosis on a merc -costing alot, where sometimes the fix is very simple. As a side mercs like genuine parts.

good luck and tell us how you get on
