CarPlay in E Class cab

im getting my new (to me) E500 cab tomorrow and I was wondering if anybody had done the upgrade to the headunit so it could do CarPlay etc.

If so how much did it cost and was it difficult to do.

I did see someone post a while back about changing the Comand in their S-Class for a replacement unit that gave CarPlay / Android Auto etc.

Integrated Auto have had some good comment on here. The guys at Comand Online fit something similar.

I’ve got a price from command online of just over £700, but you seem to be able to buy the units on research of under £300 , has anybody actually tried fitting one?

I have one in my car that i fitted myself......... i posted a picture in this section if you look for it. If thats the sort of thing your after im sure i can help you get it sorted out.

Thats because your car cannot have factory Apple CarPlay / Android Auto. You will need a third party add on system. The kit alone is £499. The £749 you were quoted is fully fitted.

There are a number of kits available, not all are good.
