So, I've now replaced the inlet manifold gasket, replaced the oil cooler (actual cooler, not just seals), replaced boost pipes and I have this (see vid)...

That had been idling for a few mins, then when rev, poooooof! Once it's cleared and warmed up doesn't smoke again during the drive extra. Except when left for about an hour or overnight.

Seems can't upload bids so a link:

Is there any air in fuel lines ?

But usually "fuel smoke" falls and "steam smoke" rises.

More heat gets fuel to burn so it goes off.

Do the glow plugs work?

Mines a bit like that ATM when I leave it ticking over for a while especially when cold, just not as Smokey. It stinks as well of strong fuel fumes. I haven't looked for a problem yet I just put it down to the cold weather over fuelling the engine if thats possible? Last time I seen that much smoke and that colour I had bad injectors

No idea about air in the fuel lines. With regards to glow plugs, how would I know if they didn't? The car starts and runs fine, no misfires etc starts easily ...

Pretty sure it will overfuel in colder weather as takes longer to warm up.unless statt failing/sticking. Crude method try to blank off part of rad ,see if situation improves. Keep eyevon temp guage !

Also if prob persits keep eye on oil level not going up.

Nothing more annoying than an open thread so thought I'd comeback to update and close.

Changed my turbo and not only has the smoke stopped, but it no later nger goes into limp mode! Strange as all the codes were pointing to vaccum leak, DPF issues.

If a leaky turbo could put the car into limp mode, then surely it would be able to throw up a code related to the turbo?

Still, atleast it's sorted now!!!! :)

Was diagnosed by two independent specialist, turbo oil seals. Cost, reconned turbo £150 and fitted it myself.
