it will certainly need drying - see post #6 earlier in this thread for how to reduce the chances of it happening again.

I suggest assuming the foam block will be dripping wet that you get it out now - once you've mopped up the boot floor, the pump can sit on anything soft (old sponge, rolled up towel, etc) in its proper location while the foam dries out - just pack in enough soft stuff around it to stop it rattling about

Its on the left in the boot under the roof pump, I have said here how to remove it. I would also separate the case and look inside if you are up to that sort of thing

As water has got into the pump, and that is why it blew the fuse it should be opened up and dried, only 4 screws holding it together,, If the motor is showing any signs of rust then the boot does need fixing,, these pumps cost £825

Dont realy want to take apart ,would i have to disconnect pipes and wiring to gain access to pump inside i can see the screws on the same side as pipes, could it be left to dry out without opening,it was`nt flooded with water but sponge was wet,
boot lid was dripping wet with condensation this morning.

If water was being “poured” over the unit then the water could trickle in at the electrical connection pin holes and where it splits open in its middle.

It probably hasn’t got any water inside but the electrical pins could have gotten damp/wet and caused the problem.
If the inside is wet, it will never dry out until the inside is exposed to a moving airflow/breeze.

Can’t say if your pump will open with the Yellow tubes still attached but would be surprised if you couldn’t do it though, the electrical connection plugs will need to be unplugged and cleaned and dried then try again to see if the fuse is blown.

Edit… Is this one yours on eBay… http://www.ebay.com/itm/2005-R230-M...Parts_Accessories&hash=item2ec53c841c&vxp=mtr

I've never done it myself, but watched it done twice (in about 10 seconds flat) - the yellow pipes come out in two "blocks" - you don't have to unplug each individual pipe

The fuse shouldn’t blow when you disconnect the electrical plugs, however if you operate the remote to lock or unlock and if there is still a fault… damp/wet?... then the fuse MIGHT blow as there will be power going to the pump when you operate the remote fob.
Have a spare fuse or two handy.

Again as David, just the block with the vacuum pipes and the electrical connections, but if you do not take it apart at least see if there is any water still in there, it will rot the components and the tracking on the PCB. it is the water inside that has caused the fuse to blow, and after this you must still attend to the the boot seals and roof seals or it will go again. You could unplug the pump and send it to me and I would dry it out and re protect the PCB and I only charge the postage. As earlier £825 when they fail

You could, if you could, put up a couple of good pictures of the internals and the PCB and connection points of the plugs, always useful to have images of what’s being talked about.
