I drive a CLS with keyless entry and both my key batteries need to be replaced, according to the dashboard readout. They were both replaced in January this year as part of my annual service! My spare key has never been used during this time.
What's been your experience?
Points of fact.
Only 3% of global Co2 emmissions are man made.
No one has ever proved that Co2 causes global warming.
The biggest 'greenhouse gas' is water vapour.
BTW. I drive a CLS with the 3 litre V6 diesel and love the fact that at 70mph it's turning over at less than 1500 rpm. Also the economy is good. In the end, it's your own personal choices that count.
Diesel is a more chemically efficient than petrol. That's why you get more MPG when it's used properly.
By 'Better', I meant the driving experience in a car.
I have a friend who's recently traded in his 6 year old 2 litre diesel C Class for a new 2 litre petrol CLA. He is not impressed with the constant automatic shifting of the gears to compensate for the relative lack of torque. He misses the ease and smoothness with which his C Class used to...
It would only affect the drivers who already comply with the law. There are many untaxed, uninsured cars/drivers who would still be outside this requirement.
I had the same problem. Took it into my main dealers who put it on the diagnostic which told them it wasn't the aux. battery, but could be a diode. In the end it took over 3 days and £700 (special negociated rate) to uncover the fact that a lead was shorting out and had to be replaced.
The car...
I'm not a happy bunny either. My car went in on the 15th Feb. to Mercedes Harrogate for a diagnostic. The stop start wasn't working (which didn't worry me) but thought it prudent to sort it. After 2 hours I was told that it was either the SAM module, another module or the wiring.
Booked it in...
Always on for me. Cool car in summer (well it's a cool car anyway) and dehumidified air in winter. Humid air is not as comfortable and steams the windows up.
I've decided to change the summer wheels and tyres for the winter ones this weekend. Not as easy as it was due to 'old age' - mine not the car!
Previously used Kwik Fit but easier in a way to take my time and do it myself.
What do you do when this time of year comes around?
Just to let you know that most Auto makers no longer include spare wheels/tyres with their cars because of the cost and the extra weight.
Welcome to the 21st century!
I used to work for INA many years ago. Now a major supplier to Motor manufacturers for assemblies. Very good quality from a global player with Headquarters and factories in Germany.
The Mercedes matt paint finish is costly and highly specialised. Mercedes tried to sell me a car with this finish and I rejected it. The main reason was that Mercedes don't cover this type of paint with their small damage insurance as there are only a few paint shops who are qualified to deal...
It may be just aethetics. I've a CLS350D shooting brake and have just changed the winter wheels and tyres back to the original summer set.
The 285/30/19 rears weigh a ton.
