I know what you mean, my daughter-in-law had a Kia, 6 years never serviced apart from an occasional oil change and never any problem apart from a broken key and punctured tyres.
Not just me I'm afraid. A relative in London has a 2010 Mercedes C Class estate, that's troublesome.
They have slipped way down in my estimation, a Reliant Robin is more reliable.
If I ever won a Mercedes as a prize I'd ask to swap it for the booby prize.
Because of all the damned trouble with the A Class I got rid of it.
The idea of the engine being knocked down under the false floor is good, but, this causes serious expense, starter motor & clutchfor example. Relay problems with starter motor just ****ed me off so it went. Should I live to be...
Firstly you don't need a Mercedes to have a private plate, you don't have to be vain either. I bought my private plate from DVLA all in for £250, my initials followed by date of birth followed by my three initials. First went onto a Fiat Panda then on my Mitsubishi, awaiting for those geezers...
Just make sure that there are no leaks in the system. The condenser could have impact damage from road debris.
For the past 20 years I've had air con, I always leave it on as it prevents seals blowing.
Sir, I tend to agree with you. If you want the boot for example when leaving the supermarket you'll need to press a button, why two buttons? Surely a gimmick adopted by MB from other manufacturers.
When I bought the Mercedes A-Class W169 it only came with one key. Now, we all knpw that things can happen where either the key gives up the ghost or you lose it. About 20 years ago whilst walking in Harrogate a young lady dropped the keys to her Volvo 340, straight down the drain, it happens...
The monkeys I bought the A Class from has failed to fix the starter motor so Donald Duck them I want to buy one myself. However, checking the prices they range from under £60 to near £400???
What the hell is that all about? Can somebody recommend a good starter motor that won't go tits up after...
Gentlemen, thanks for all your advice. For the first time ever I took my car out for a dark run.............Guess what?
The interior light came on as if all by magic. One problem put to bed.
And pray sir, what makes you think I can read??:D
I just ain't gonna get lost in all that magic stuff in the wizard electronics, a new mobile phone frightens the life out of me.
My 11 year old granddaughter has shown me what my phone is capable of. Where the hell did I get off?
Thank you Blobcat. Guess what? Never tried it when it's dark. Job for tonight then, but surely there must be a sensor somewhere and mine is the bog standard "I'm Skint" model.:D
I have never had such a confusing/difficult car in over 43 years of driving.
My latest problem is the interior light, you know when you open a door the interior courtesy light should illuminate, it doesn't. I've tried pressing the associated button on the overhead console but nothing happens...
Welcome Zdravko, Christ, tried to pronounce you name and 1st post out loud, all my teeth fell out:D
I'm hoping you get an answer as I'm interested. Companies here in the UK charge a ****** fortune, as all the electrics are in place on a 2010 A-Class we're just being stung.
