Does it have the AMG sport pack? If it does then you have the shorter springs.

Just take a visual look at all of them, if not use a multimeter and set it up for continuity, then check across each fuse. Make sure the ignition is off as you are performing a dead test.

Sometimes you can hear the valve lifters the first time after start up, as the oil has been completely drained. I only ask about the filter because some have an anti drain back in them, which means the top of the engine can stay lubricated on start up.

Was it 5w40 that was in there before? Did you use a genuine filter?

Hi Could you provide a video or sound clip it will give more of an idea of what’s going on. Did you only hear it after you had changed the oil? Did it do it again the next time you started it?

It’s easier to sell it and buy one with a more powerful engine. For that sort of money you might as well go for a 250d, if you remap the 220d it will roughly be the same as a 250d. But the 250D has the hardware to support the power and torque.
