Already installed including an ML 500 power steering pump, pipe work removal next and then sway bar installs.
Only thing I can't do is the ABC error code removal, I've pulled the fuses to get the white error message but I'd like that coded out there's a thread where it explains how to do this...
Hi does anyone local to West Sussex/Surrey/Hampshire area have the required tools to code out ABC from a CL 500? and fancy helping a forum member?
If so please post on here we can have a chat.
Thanks.
I found an old Alfa Romeo control arm with a ball joint on that was threaded M10 1.0 pitch and cut that off the ball joint and reprofiled the end on my lathe. Job done
Sorry I should have said somewhere I can buy in person not order online I can't wait for royal snail at the moment with all the strike action plus living in the countryside I barely get post atm.
I need a replacement grub screw for my C215 CL 500's front ABC strut. I had to drill it out and new strut fitted now need replacement screw but cannot find one.
I believe them to be M10 1.0 Pitch x 20mm?
Does anyone know where might sell these or the actual Mercedes part number?
Thanks,
James.
About to order a pair of re-manufactured ABC rear struts, having diagnosed the left rear strut's shock section has leaked heavily and has no damping action and the right rear strut's lower bushing has collapsed and is knocking, both rear struts need replacement.
As this is something I will be...
Since the strut is being replaced, I think it's irrelevant at this point. I'll do the left rear first and see if that resolves the problem and perhaps follow up with the right rear if it needs it.
Had time to get the car in the air and get a pry bar on all the suspension and subframe location points, nothing loose or knocking.
Right rear shock appears to be fine, i've cleaned it all up with brake cleaner and i'll keep an eye on that shock.
The left rear shock has blown (the traditional...
Thanks @alexanderfoti for confirming, it definitely seems that way as the fluid is not leaking around the connection or the top of the strut it's leaking up the shaft and down the side of the strut which I believe is the lower section shock (no 6 on the diagram) that's unfortunately blown, the...
I was under the impression that the ABC dealt with below 5hz frequency of damping and the traditional shock inside the strut handled above? It's a spring and dampers with a hydraulic ram on top that can deal with body roll and low frequencies.. At least that was my understanding? I could be...
It's leaking now, I aren't sure if it's the ABC Fluid or the the traditional part of the shock that's leaking but it's VERY wet and oily.
ABC Fluid isn't going down and the fluid is orangey black not green, so I think it's the traditional bottom half of the shock that's blown?
So probably...
Hi Guys,
I was wondering if anyone could help me find diagnose this problem.
I have a groaning coming from my OSR suspension when driving, sort of like a rumbling/bouncing but it's not a wheel bearing type noise, it's definitely related to compression and rebound in the suspension.
Could be...
She's gone away to think about it, ironically I'd just listed it for sale. We'll see, I'd kinda love it to go across the road, I can keep an eye on it then haha.
I started working at a company in 2016 the owner of which had a collection of 45+ Mercedes cars from the 70s, 80s and 90s and pre merger AMG cars, including some highlights like the 560 SEC AMG 6.0 Wide Body, 500E and E60 AMG to name but a few.
I was given a Mercedes W124 300D as a quasi...
