What a massive pain the neck though. What are you supposed to do with an old(ish) Merc now? Start stockpiling parts from Russia? Or do people just end up scrapping their cars?

My 2002 CLK55 went in for its MOT today. I knew it was going to cost me a few quid, the engine management light is on (ODBII says a problem with the MAF) and the rear brake lines are corroded. What I wasn't expecting when the mechanic called was that the front offside coil spring...
In that case I'll do that while I've got the wheel apart to replace the buttons.
Where's a good site to buy parts like new steering wheel buttons? Is there anywhere cheaper than Mercedes themselves? There are a few sets of buttons available on eBay but they're used.

I have what looks like an issue with the steering angle sensor on my 2003 W209 CLK55. The ESP fault warning is constantly on on the central display and cruise control doesn't work. I've tried resetting the SAS by turning the wheel lock to lock a few times but that hasn't helped...
