Guys - recently I have thought the ticker noise for the turn signals/indicators is a bit weedy. Today, it has gone even weedier. I can barely hear it when parked with engine off. I hoped the handbook would lead me to a menu where I could adjust the volume - no luck! Now I'm thinking it...
Recently traded a GLE 350d for a GCHQ ............. sorry that should read EQC, and I find it characterless; there is nothing that rouses any passion, except exasperation! And there is only a tin of Tirefit. My avatar is the GLE temporary spare wheel in its well, below the boot floor, filled to...
Swamydoo, You mjght want to contact an indie MB specialist that I rate highly - MB and B in Cheltenham. Easy to find near Tesco on Tewkesbury road. http://mbbcheltenham.co.uk/ Typical charges a third to a half of dealer, and you can speak with the guy who works on your car
Mini-spare is a Continental tyre on a steel wheel - there are special short wheelbolts in the toolkit which must be used with mini-spare. Size is 155/80 R 19 114 which will be same rolling circumference as 265/45 R 20 if you work it out. Andy
This is slightly embarrassing. I'd like to start a new thread but I just can't see where to begin. Of course I have only been using this site for 7 years. please help an old fool!
My new thread was to ask if anyone would scan a page out of the little services guide ht comes with the gazette...
Thanks again for further suggestions and explanations - we are not bad for our age and entrance presents no problems, nor exit, except for the ease with which you can inadvertently brush the sills with the back of the leg …….. in the same way that you can find the knees of your trousers are...
Marginally in favour of NO side steps, then! Many thanks for your replies which have convinced SWMBO she must leap out more vigorously ………..…………. tricky when you are 76 :):)
SWMBO is getting tetchy about keeping the sill clean with the back of her jeans legs!
If any one has found side steps a help or otherwise, please comment. We don't have sidesteps.
TIA, Andy
Not being picky but ……. on your photo, just over half full is good for 3800miles, so full would be good for 7000ish miles??
This accords well with my GLE 350d, where the addition of a full 10 litres of AdBlu showed 5/8 full and 4400 miles. Must be a hell of a big tank!!
Jolly decent of you, keefysher, to draw my attention to all the possibilities. Sadly, at my age and state of health, I dither endlessly!
Should I put Srdl's iOS app on my iPhone? Or would it be better with Lost Kiwi's Android app on my laptop? Maybe I'll just explore the interactive owners...
And I reinforce all that keefysher has written about the W166 iteration of the GLE. It displays those virtues which define a Mercedes Benz. Unlike the GLC which I think isall bling!!
J just switched to a 2017 GLE and found it has a minispare under the boot floor and all the tools for a wheel change. T suspect it is fairly rare in the light of previous posts about spare wheels/lack of/in many new Mercs.
Lucky or what? Except I can't find the location for the warning...
Not uncommon! It is a sequencing thing and can be recovered by closing both doors and starting again, so to speak. If no luck I'd close all doors and windows and lock car, walk away for 5 minutes, then start again lifting the chrome lever and trying to move backrest back or forward. If that...
Good point, Andy, there are benefits from some social media that would have amazed us twenty years ago - well, amazed me anyway!
And Conor, you have been a most prolific poster in your month of being on this forum; I notice you work in the world of computing, and you have chosen a very handsome...
