Yep check the thickness of the discs, and the pads of course usual sales spiel to make more money
mine needs some soon, I’ve noticed mb Newcastle (local to me) on eBay as cheap as ecp for mine on front but compare
Never had a problem selling a car which has been self serviced... though I have tended not to DIY until something is either at 100k miles or after about 4 years.
that said I’ll still do brake pads and discs myself before then if needed
I’ve a sealey pressure bleeder... works well and means you top up the tank with fluid and just worn your way round the car.
didn’t work well when I changed brake hoses but did that the old fashioned way to get pedal feel back. But for a flush it’s fine
Oh and every 2 years is probs...
Mines about 12p mile on fuel (220cdi) mostly motorway (I’ve only filled it twice since lockdown in March
This is from an app I use (keeps me on track with services and also costs for running a car as I get allowance and mileage rate from work and I use simply as an easy benchmark
nope non acidic ones..not had any issues with the oem ones or equally on any diamond cut wheels using the same techniques/products... it’s like they had no protective cover on them...
trying to work out which are which as those sold as genuine really aren’t!!!!
ok I’ll try some more... for a...
Just after some advice, apart from OE ones, can anyone point me in the direction of decent wheel centres please which don’t cost the earth?
the last 2 sets I’ve got (blue standard ones) off eBay and the like have lasted one winter and been all corroded after - these are for my winter alloys...
i’ll be honest I’d simply refuse kwik fit (if I ever had to go there) I’d they said that and I wasn’t sure... it’s a sales ploy...but I know when my brakes are close to needing changing...
My local mot place is the same now..but they say it’s because they need to spend an hour logged in (even...
Glad that charging it fixed it. Mine kept throwing this message in the winter. Took it to MB before the official warranty ran out... they said the connectors were corroded and it had to be replaced (big cost to them fortunately) but it still bothers me about long term issues... also I couldn’t...
Great brushes, I think I got a set of 3. The little one also great for narrow gapped spokes and the large one to get through to the wheel backs as I try to keep them as clean as possible
Just to jump on back of this, think I’ll need to do the brakes on my CLS.. sitting around more due to covid and all that stuff.. when I take a right turn I get a whooshing on and off noise...
checked and the discs are heavily lipped front and back.. only 40k miles :rolleyes:

yep I used to fly more freely while single, most things happened as planned...if it didn’t when abroad it added to the voyage...

Yep the generally ignored by most locals but reduced 80kph limit makes longer journeys a bit of a pain.. rural roads are lovely though and mostly deserted
Not sure a car can catch covid....;)o_O
There will be no travel restrictions to most of Europe in a few days, so despite that covering travel health insurance I’d not be worried personally
Given that as/rac don’t cover Europe it’s going to be sub contracted out regardless...therefore it’s pretty immaterial who you need to contract with I’d assume?
for £50 isn’t it piece of mind least then you’d get a replacement car, and yours brought back to Blighty if unfixable on the...
If generic parts then ecp, gsf, or their sister online co (can’t remember the name at the mo) there is also likes of Mick’s garage to try or someone like opieoils.
for mb then yep I’d say Newcastle (handy as near me) or Grangemouth
Normally get personal cover as 4 cars...
watch age of car restrictions, I’ve 2 which are now over 15 and most wont cover then.
I’ve just gone with GEM after years with AA and RAC massive fees... they seem to be recommended and £107 for me and Mrs with unlimited cars and no age restrictions...
surely someone would question lots of incredibly neat stamps in a book? It messes up my ocd but garages always stamp books randomly (some even upside down)
actually I’ve purchased a service history book for my car from eBay (no stamp though..) ... as I don’t intend keeping the CLS in the...
