And if you get almost to the end of a quote without g etting a firm offer, revisit later and the quote will have gone up. They assume that as you've come back you can't get a decent quote elsewhere and think they have you over a barrel. Especially true for holiday insurance in my experience.

Try RAC and AA online. It might be cheaper, or a lot more expensive. Depends on how much business the computer has done this month I recon.

I do this too. Reminded me mine need doing again. I buy the cheap silicon spray from lidle/aldi and give all the rubbers loads. Can stop the groaning from old rubber bushes too.

On some older models you can adjust the brightness by turning the reset knob at the side of the display. Mine is easy to read some days and not on others. I don't think that it's worth the effort to change the display,especially if you have big hands and could make it worse.

You can buy the clips for a couple of quid and get a dipstick on line.
