The m113 might be getting on a bit but they are absolutely brilliant engines that can cover huge mileages without much going wrong. I'm still running my 1999 CLK320. No issues with the engine at 170k, so far.
Try a w202 C-Class.
You can pick them up ridiculously cheap and they don't break. Same with the w208 CLK.
I've ran a W208 for 10 years and it has never broken down or failed to start.
I promise you. You owe yourself one of these 90's Merc's.
The M112 3.2 V6 is a really great engine. (so is the V8's)
I've ran a w208 CLK320 for the past 10 years and never touched the engine. Car now done 155k.
Only thing it has needed has been a oil changes/filters an idler pulley & belt and a couple of sensors.

Here's a quick photo of my 208 today. All four arches are a bit rusty and there's some rust on the boot lid and door bottoms. Going to start with two new front wings and go from there.

Bodywork wise she isn't looking so great these days though. I'll take a few current pictures of her today, as I really need to get her looking like this again. :)
I had to post about my w208 CLK320 as I got her through another MOT without too much trouble.
Needed a small bit of welding at the ns front strut top mount but other than that, it's all good.

I've have been wondering what you all think about buying replacement body panels for my rusty W208.
I called Dronsfields and they have said that they are selling wings for £75, rear quarters for £150, Bootlids and Doors for £75 each, too.
Are replacement panels a better way to go than rust...
