Ok, quick update on the olde gearbox drama. Plugged in my reader and got a fault of P0705 transmission range sensor A circuit PRNDL input.
I reset the fault, and the car drove fine for around 3 miles. Switched it off, went back to it after 10 minutes, and once again showing P on the display...
Yeah, will go and have a chat with Alex Crow, and go from there with it. Didn’t know if anyone else on here ever had the same issue, and what to cause might have been.
Hi All.
But if a lengthy read here, need advice on the cause though…
Drove my olde 2005 E320 CDi yesterday, and after a 20 mile journey got back to the car, started it, put it in D and off I went. The car was stuck in 1st gear. I noticed the D symbol & the S symbol either side of the odometer...
Brakes all done ‘yay!!!’ Followed the step posted on here, started her up, and no warnings on the panel!! Just took her out for a test run, and the passenger wheel feels hotter than the drivers, hopefully it’ll bed itself into place.
Cheers for answering the post, YouTube sometimes makes you...
Cheers for all the advice, going to have a go at this on the olde driveway tomorrow. I’ll be honest I’ve been changing brakes on cars for almost 30 years, and this set up on this E class is making me nervous!’
Many thanks, I’ve changed disks/pad etc in the past, and this system on my e class is a new learning curve to me!!! So thought good olde YouTube… and all that done was confuse the hell out of me even more!!! Will get the pads ordered from ECP tomorrow, and give it a go one evening this week
What, so just unplug under the bonnet? I’m guessing just change pads like normal then. Would I pump the brake pedal before plugging it back in again, or afterward. As I said I’ve what a few different YouTube vids on it, and confused myself now
Hey All.
I’m wanting to change the pads on my 05 E320, and after watching many YouTube videos about this SBC system I’m confusing the hell out of myself… is there a simple way, for a bloke on his driveway to do this simple task, without needing to buy specialist code readers etc??
The car...
Yes, exact same setup as in the video shown, just wondered if anyone else had tried this, with better success than I’m having. I brought a iPhone 4 cradle and phone to try it, my iPhone X will connect to the cradle, then disconnect. I’ve tried a payg sim in the iPhone 4 and it’s pairs up to the...
Hi All.
Trying to pair my iPhone X using this YouTube video. My phone connects then disconnects straight away just wondered if anyone else has tried this method, and what I’m doing wrong!! Any advice is appreciated
Thanks for the reply, it’s defo one of these problems that isn’t going to go away, think I’ll try to find a indy in Suffolk. As I said it doesn’t constantly do it, at least the gear it selects isn’t Park or Reverse
Hi all.
Recently got myself a 05 E320, and just have a quick question. When it’s raining and I open the boot water drips inside the car from the boot lid. I’m pretty sure Mercedes didn’t overlook this when they designed the car, any thought what would cause it? It’s really annoying
Hi all
Need some advice on my 05 E320 Auto box. I’ve had the car around 6 months and done around 2,000 miles in it. I’ve noticed (it’s happened 3 times now) I’ll be driving along and the car will jolt, and the gearbox gets stuck in gear. I don’t know what gear, but it won’t let me manually...
Hi all.
This weekends project is to change the thermostat on my recently purchased 2005 W211 E320 CDI. Would anyone know the torque settings for the thermostat housing? I’ve been trying to search on the site, but haven’t found anything yet, cheers
Hey All.
I’ve just got a used E320 CDi, and noticed the sat nav disk in the boot is missing. To be fair I don’t know where to even start to try to get a replacement for it. The car is a 2005, so even if it had the disk it’ll be 16 years out of date. I’m also trying to pair my iPhone to the car...
