2003 E class self leveling suspension

I thought about welding it but for the price I figure I might as well replace it

2003 E class self leveling suspension

All sorted, for reference, it does affect the self leveling suspension, so if you have one side down to the bump stops at the back, check the front level sensor is still attached to the suspension. Part was only £22.99 from the dealer and they had it in stock. Easy to fit, wheel off then take...

2003 E class self leveling suspension

Hi, Drove 300miles to my parents last night with no problems at all. Unpacked the car and half an hour later fount the drivers rear on the bump stop. Started the car and it rose up but not to full hight. This morning it was still at the same hight, drove my mum to work and when I stopped and...

    12v power outlet

If your head unit says it has a aux input, it should be in the glovebox on the very top edge in the middle, it took me a while to spot mine.

    E211 Dashboard fault

Take the instruments out and clean the plugs and connectors put it back in and she how it goes, if not sounds like the board probably needs resoldering. Mine did the same thing 2 years back, I got away with cleaning the connections and it's still working well, so it's worth a try.

What Have You Done To Your Merc Today?

Detailed the Eclass inside and out today, and plugged it into the optimizer as I'll probably be driving the Citroen for a bit .

Do you need any special tools to remove W211 Ball Joints?

Because when the ball joint eventually let's go, it does it with a bang, and inevitably your head will be in the wheel arch when it goes.

    Silent alarm ....

Same as my Eclass, it will almost certainly be the alarm siren batteries leaking acid into the PCB, that shorts the connections and causes exactly what your describing. Once you remove the siren all returns to normal, obviously your alarm won't sound untill you replace it.

    W211 Ambient Lighting

That's what the underside looks like, looks as if only the reading light is replaceable, but if you drop it down, looks like it pulls down from the middle, you might find you can replace the ambient bulbs to. The part number for the left unit is A2118203701, type it into E bay and you'll find...

    E55k CPS

Get hold of a cheap E8 socket, or whatever fits the bolt tightest and fill it with epoxy/araldite and put it on the bolt and wait for it to cure, should do the job.

    E class rail cover

I've had a look and it seems you can only buy the full trim with both the covers, part numbers are A2076900780 for the left and A2076900880 for the right, putting those numbers into E bay and you get a few hits on either side, seem to go for £70-£100. All appear to be in black so I assume thats...

W211 tyres - what do you use?

I have always use Kumho HS51 Solus all year round on my E320 CDI, on my third set over 50000miles, first set was ruined by bad suspension geometry when I bought the car. Tyres give good grip even on snow and ice, I live in the Highlands so I see plenty of it. Good grip in the wet and dry and...

Do you need any special tools to remove W211 Ball Joints?

The joint is pressed in, it can be done on the car in half an hour with the right tool, you can get it on that auction site, this is the one I have, item number 262781486151, it's not too expensive, probably cheaper than the labour. You will need a ball joint separator, and some ear plugs for...
