Are intelligent servo modules those devices that are used with "KeyLess" entry systems? In other words is it models with "Keyless" entry systems that require programming?

Hi Botus and Noddy,
I used an unorthodox method to remove to EGR; I warmed the engine slightly first. A one inch wood chisel laid flat against the fixed part with the sloping part against the valve. Tap gentle until separation is achieved. Use some wd40 in the gap. Then with a piece of steel...
Hi Cole,
I am reading in some forums that some of these gear shift modules have to be "programmed" and some comments also state that this is not necessary in models on of after the W211 E280 V6 cdi on engine numbers starting 642.920. Are you able to shed any light on this?
Many thanks

Hi all,
At last I have had a chance to deal with the EGR. No problems removing it. Gently tapping it each way seems to free it off. The business side of the valve looked as expected with mild carbonisation. It is what I would expect it to look like. I removed the cover as Doug1234 specified...
It's an intermittent fault and I have replaced the brake switch.
It also affects the ability to use the gears manually and sometimes prevents the brake hold from working (like when you are on an uphill slope and press the brake hard). My thoughts are that there is something more to this like a...
Hi
I have the same problem with a W211 E280 cdi V6 2006 facelift
I get this as an intermittent fault.
Sometimes I lose the ability to use gears manualy.
If I take my foot of brake pedal I can move the gear lever.
Did you fix the problem?
Supernoodle,
Those were my thoughts too but I was unsure. Good to have someone else thinking the same way.
Thank you for your help. The wife is driving to Newcastle in it at the moment so it will be a slow drive if the Limp home mode cuts in. (It sometimes clears itself). When I get my car...
Hi Kenneth,
Thanks for your advice.
"Between the intake manifolds" Is it located forward or backward on the engine and is it easy to get to?
Any tips on locating it more specifically.
Your help is really appreciated.

Adrian

My E280 Estate has had this problem with the oil dripping down onto the turbo controller. My independant MB engineer suggested a tampon! Pretty good that - Mercedes Benz needs tampons! I had taken off the old controller and pulled it apart. it was dry inside. The issue I think is that the oil...
My fault showed up after I had replaced the battery and due to lockdown the car was not used for some time. I used my powerful charger and then got the fault next time I fired up the car. I have cleared the fault but it comes back as it is eeing that the problem still exists. I need to get at...
I have just had exactly the same come up on my 1996 E280 cdi S211. Did it solve the problem? We have had heavy rain and I have jetwashed the car too! What was the part number that you obtained?
