Hi, I'm looking to replace the alloy wheel centre caps on both my E and SL but I'm not sure which part to measure e.g. the outside diameter, the inner ring etc. Any advice? TIA
Bought a matching numbers used unit for £150 and fitted myself. My "blackout" fault was intermittent so it was a pain to diagnose exactly what was causing it. I also had a battery drain where the sat nav, amp and unit were all drawing power every few mins. Changing the unit cured all.
Had this problem recently with my E Class. A quick check of the fuses for each component in the loop may show the cause with less hassle than pulling the car apart to get at the components. My car had separate fuses for Comand, sat nav, cd changer and the amp. If that doesn't help then it does...
Not sure on your particular model, on the CLS it was possible to bend the mirror back the wrong way if you catch my drift, towards the front of the car, that exposed some of the running gear and it was just a matter of spraying the lube in and working the mirror back and forth. TBH I had a heart...
My old CLS had this prob, I would have folded them in when in tight traffic flows and sometimes my drivers side wouldn't open out again. Luckily it was the drivers side so it was easy to give it a slight nudge when operating the button and it would activate OK. Plenty of lube on the teeth helps...
Has anyone used the snow socks mentioned above? Are they a faff to fit/use or would they be a good get out of jail card to keep in the boot for emergencies? I've watched the promo vids but prefer some real world experience and advice if available please
Did a brim to brim fill at the weekend, I had covered 456 miles at 32.5mpg. Trip gave reading of 456 miles at 30.9mpg. I always suspected the trip would be optimistic so I was surprised with the result.
All fill to fill measures, not the trip computer

I had a 2017 e220d for a month. Covered about 1100miles and found it very uncomfortable compared to the w211 or my old CLS. Lovely car in every other aspect especially the 9 speed box. My friend has the same car but the estate model and covered about 40k. Mentioned my experience with the seats...
