    W163 rear drop links

Hi. Our old ML270 for some reason about a month a go lost the left hand rear anti roll bar link. Bear in mind that wife uses car to tow a double horse trailer. The drop links were the original ones so 20 years old. Went to Euro car parts and bought some at £2.50 each, could not believe that...

    Air Con Problems

It will depend on what the fault is you are looking for, for example, it will not show if there is a small leak within the system, an air con engineer with correct machine will find that. If its flaps not opening or closing, or some other electronic issue then perhaps star will have to be used,

    Recharging Air-con

Ok, word of warning. My old W163, same as yours a few years ago, warm vents, had it re gassed, and all fine until the next summer, no cold air, had it re gassed again, and all fine, until next summer warm again. My air con garage said it must have a very small leak, as each time re gassed, there...

    bit embarrassed to ask this

How on earth do you get a clean inside of the windscreen ?? I have used glass cleaners, and at first all seems fine, then the smear and fog comes back again, awful in low sun. This is just not one car but all three we own, no one smokes in them, blasting screen with aircon does not work, tried...

    Smelly Air Con

if the pollen filter is blocked with gunge, no amount of smelly things will work. Change the filter, its a cheap item, then look for something else

    Rust !!!

ERM, no, I am a bit of a dunce when it comes to that. I just put " airbrush with trigger" into eBay and it popped up, think it was about £30. Small compressor was about £66 with a button on the top airbrush. I had so much more control of spray with the trigger airbrush.

It looks better on real life, shadows reveal the slight colour differences.

    Rust !!!

It just goes to show a decent result can be had with rattle cans. It's not perfect but it will do.

    Rust !!!

Sorry, done most of repair before remembering to take a picture. Both sides are the same, rust running along bottom edge and about an inch up, have now repaired and giving paint a few days to harden before rubbing down and polish. Will post another picture with result soon.

    Bumped front bumper

Looking at the damage, yes, the black bit can be replaced, if this was my car i would buy a touch up, and with a very small brush, touch the paint chips up. As they are low down and very minor, it should produce a decent result.

    Rust !!!

Just to update, not posted any pictures of results with airbrush. The finish on the arches was good, no problem, however, i found a little more rust on the bottom front of the passenger side wing. It was one of those spots of rust that when you started attacking it, it just keep going, so the...

    Rust !!!

These are the air brushes I have been trying. Both do a decent job but I prefer the bottom one as I find the trigger easier to use than the button on top type. What have I learnt, well, getting a decent result is not easy, you have to remember that the airbrush sprays a circle of paint, unlike...

    Rust !!!

Ok, did some practise today and quite pleased with results. Pictures dont do justice. Top trim I painted all of it, bottom trim just the ends and tried to blend it in. I am happy enough to have a go at car soon.

    CLK W209 - Can't steer after MOT

I wonder. Track rod ends are on the end of the rack, did they damage/strip a thread ?, hence track rod end not secure, maybe tracking was done, and track rod end coming loose threw it all out again. Sounds a bit like a very heavy handed fitter.
