As far as I can gather it's original - but can't swear to it unconditionally. Will have a look at the manual you indicate on Google.
I have had many 124s over my classic car life and this is the first I have seen without a glove box.
I would be a bit nervous about taking it to an alarm...

On my model there is no glovebox at all.
That said is there a way to locate and isolate the system. I realise this might be seen to defeat the purpose of the system but in essence that is what I am trying to do !!

My car has AC and the corroded leaking oil cooler pipe which accesses the radiator (top and bottom) is out of stock in UK and Germany - so unavailable for an indeterminate time.
As a work around is it practical the bypass the oil cooler pipe...

Have an oil leak from corroded oil cooler pipes from gearbox to oil cooler.
Looks feasible to "graft" piping between unions - is this a practical solution ? Is there a pressure issue?
Does anyone have schematic of the system and source for replacement pipe...

This problem initially started out as the car would not idle at all. It would run perfectly but would die on idle. - engine hot or cold.
Fitted a s/hand tested OVP - no change. Vacuum leak none found (smoke test).
Took to Mercedes main dealer for diagnostic, over and above the 16 pin socket on...
