Just to loop back - I can confirm that the easiest thing to do to get that ridiculously long bolt out is to:
- Loosen the two bracket bolts holding the metal fuel lines in place to give you wiggle room
- Disconnect the larger of the two fuel lines connected to the filter (the one on the right...
Old thread revival! I am currently changing mine out, and I am stuck on the long bolt and getting it out without damaging anything..... All hints and tips appreciated. I was able to loosen off two bolts that hold the metal fuel line in place, but still it will not give me enough clearance to get...
Excellent that yours is still going strong - Again, I don't mind replacing both of them, the car sits more often now since Covid as i'm now working from home or cycling into the office. The cost to replace both was not horrendous.
I get a nice strong crank now which is a bonus!
Back to my...
I've ordered a replacement, hopefully that will cure it!
I don't mind the AUX battery. Both were original so peace of mind outweighs the cost + torn up knuckles getting the thing out (ECU has to be removed.....)
Hi everyone,
Got a strange issue with my Stop/Start not working as well as the HOLD feature on the brakes. I don't use the Stop/Start much at all, but the HOLD feature is missed!!
I've replaced both the main battery and AUX battery as they were both 10 years old.
Scanned the car and the only...
Looks good to me, here's mine for comparison (Wheel HP)
I shift up around 3.5k using the padles if i'm pushing on (gearbox sometimes thinks it knows better!)
Please do not waste your money on a Tuning box - they have a place in the market for sure, just not for a complex V6 Diesel!
I had a DTUK box on my old 320d many years ago, it was fine but it was very on/off, you could feel the box 'kicking in' and was not very smooth no matter what settings I...
Holy Thread revival batman!
Probably not much use to the OP now - but I have a 2012 C350cdi and my OM642.834 does have similar behaviour with regards to the temperature needle.
I've started noticing it again now we are getting into the colder months, but for example sometimes I work late and...
They really can! Wierdest thing is, no faults were logged and when scanned with STAR no meaningful codes were found by the garage..
I guess my Car is like one of those people who you can tell is clearly in a mood but when you ask them they say "i'm fine"
I would agree, only poor running when under very light load which coincided with TC lockup.
Looking back it all makes sense, the issue would 'go away' for a while... during winter / colder days. I was so convinced it was a Gearbox issue!
Plenty more trouble free miles - Garage booking cancelled.
Thanks everyone for your replies/advice/ideas :)
GAD remap fund depleted, but atleast I have a car that is actually enjoyable/consistent to drive again!

Replaced the batwing today with a brand new OEM part from Mercedes, included were new orange seals for Turbo, PCV and Air filters. While I was at it I replaced the air filters and fuel filter (pig of a job - who decided to add a stick out part of top intercooler pipe that goes right over the...
I'd have thought that too, I'm dissapointed I did not spot it earlier either although in my defence i've only had the car two years and the hole is on the underside of the batwing, so not noticeable straight away.
It will be interesting, I doubt it will as my belief is something gearbox/TC...
Update:
Car is booked in with a Mercedes Specialist, 2 week wait which is totally understandable due to current situation and backlog! It's no bother to me as myself and the Wife are both WFH and we have her car to use.
Anyway, I planned to give the C350 a hefty service (Oil + Filter, Air...
Are these not single use? I'm about to change my fuel filter for the first time and plan to change the clic-r clamps for easier to work with hose clamps.
The sizes you need (clic-r or other)
13.5mm & 15mm
Interesting, did the whole car judder and pulsate forwards and backwards? I have read similar things in the past about autoboxes and how to drive them, this is my 2nd auto although my first was a DSG which is very different to a TC 'slushbox' :D
I don't think this is my issue, it's very...
Thanks Jason, very useful information and suggestions. When it went into the Merc Specialist previously with the issue, they scanned it using STAR and no fault codes were found. The suggestions then was to change the fluid as it was due. Looking back now that could have be pointing towards a...
Yes and he's very right - I just thought i'd put it out to the forum again incase someone comes across it now or in the future that may have or had a similar issue to myself. Back to the Mercedes Specialist is my next port of call.
