I'm not worried about draining the tc as I bought from a Mercedes commercial vehicle mechanic who asdured me he had recently changed the fluid and filter. Unfortunately the conductor plate appears to have now failed and the connector is leaking badly.

Just had a further thought. If I am changing the conductor plate will I need the full 7.4 litres or will 5 be sufficient? I am assuming the Torque Convertor will remain full of fluid.

Is Mercedes ATF134FE spec MB236.15 a supercession of ATF134 MB236.14? Can I use MB236.15 in my 722.6 transmission on my 2004 C220 CDI? Thanks in advance for your help.

The car now starts. The fault appears to be from the transmission. Hopefully a new conductor plate and connector will resolve the issues.
