Blobcat - I appreciate this is an old post but I am trying to find the third fuse box on my W212. Is this end panel on the drivers side or the passenger side of a right hand drive car please? As the OP said, the passenger side has an airbag warning sticker on it and I don't want to set that off...
I have a 2014 E220d and have the same problem. I was going to go down the "dip a piece of bamboo in the tank" route but haven't yet. I suppose the question is why do you want to know the level? I have a warning at 1000 miles and it counts down from there
The car recently did a 1500 mile round...
Apologies, I thought I had seen £35k quoted on the drivethedeal website but as I was not seriously considering buying one, I may have misremembered and might even have been looking at the long range model which I suspect is more expensive? I am happy to be corrected if I got that bit wrong...
It depends.... and I was trying to share my (relatively short) experience of driving one to help others weigh up the pros and cons. I have said elsewhere on the forum that I have decided to sell my 2014 W212 and have ordered a brand new Audi Q5 diesel. Our other family car is a four year old...
For reasons I won't bore you with, I have been driving an MG EV4 for the last week. So, based on my extensive (one week!!) knowledge, this what I have learnt so far.
Firstly as far as the MG itself is concerned:
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but personally I think the designers have...
Hi all, I have an EML just lit up on the W212 and Icarsoft error code is P229F62 "NOx sensor 2 (bank 1) has a malfunction The signal comparison is faulty".
My local Indy has tried, without lasting success, to get it to relearn and says we now have to change the sensor.
So, as I am about to...
I recently started the thread about MB trying to increase margin through a "no haggling allowed" policy and here I am just a few months later taking the plunge to order a brand new....Audi Q5.
I looked at the new GLC but wasn't massively impressed and at £58k for the Premium 220d I was...
Write to the dealer principal and highlight the safety issue. Ask them to reply in writing to say it is nothing to do with them and they can't do anything. That might focus their minds.
There have been a number of articles covering MB desire to improve the margin on each of the cars they sell and reducing the focus on chasing market share and they have been quoted as saying "entry level" models will not be replaced when they come to the end of their normal production life...
That was the icing on the cake. Obviously they had to charge for the AT fluid they used but they only charged me for twelve minutes labour. TWELVE MINUTES! It probably took them that long to get it into the workshop and onto the ramps.
Total charge was only £89 which is also why I wanted to...
I was in the West Midlands for a few days this week and noticed an oil stain when I moved the W212 and also a rainbow effect in the rainwater which was running down the hill behind the car. The car then juddered twice when pulling away from a standing start.
I arrived unannounced with no...
The government is consulting (again) on moving the first MOT to four years and a couple of other minor changes. Whatever your view, you can contribute using the link below before 28 February...
It will be interesting to see whether MB are able to make this stick in practice over time. By "no haggling required" they do of course mean "no haggling allowed". At the moment they can probably get away with it because demand exceeds supply - as supply is still limited by the supply-chain...
Hi all
I am about to change the FRONT brake pads on the SL. I am an experienced DIYer and have changed pads and discs on many family cars. I also have a tool to press back the caliper (and a wind back tool if I was doing rears without electronic brakes)
My question though is do I just push...
I alternate between using a damp chamois leather and auto glym glass cleaner on blue roll paper (but I am not saying other glass cleaners would not work too)
I then immediately dry the screen off with fresh dry "blue roll" paper. Usually works but the screen does not stay clean long during the...
I don't know enough about your car(s) but the key is whether the diesel is Euro 6 compliant. If it is, you can get confirmation from MB and get DVLA to update your V5. That should ensure you are not charged ULEZ (and in the other cities now introducing emissions charges)
If it is not Euro 6 I...
I have seen a few cars going down the road with the undertray flapping about because it has worked loose, which would tend to show up at motorway speeds. Is yours secure?
