Most cyclists, as you surmise, probably do hold a licence for a car or motorcycle and possibly both and yes part of their test for these vehicles would have included knowledge of the Highway Code but there currently is no such test or legal requirement to know and understand the Highway Code...
Most people seem to encounter cyclists flaunting the "Two Abreast" scenario on narrow, busy Roads. I myself have encountered this exact scenario on the twisty roads around where I live. Conversely, I have now problem with cyclists riding two abreast on roads where it would be prudent and safe to...

According to section 66 of the above, Cyclists should ride single file on narrow or busy roads and when riding around bends. They should not ride two abreast!
It’s funny how non of them seem to be aware of the...
Hi Digsy,
Welcome to the forum.
I have C220 (W205), it’s on a 15 plate. It has the 2.1 litre Diesel engine and 7g+ autobox. It is a Sport with Premium+ trim level.
Like you, I monitor my fuel consumption by noting mileage covered between fuel stops and doing the math, by my calculations I’m...
It's a minefield for sure but for now I enter a destination and it directs me to it, I know, it did it before but now it knows the new roads too
I had my map update on my W205 C220 with COMAND NTG5.5 done at MB Exeter on 4 June 2019 and the map version now reads: Europe 2019 V13, so I assume it is the latest version.
If you are running signal cables (i.e. phono leads from head unit) make sure there are no main power feeds on the same route, it can lead to interference. Also if you are running power feeds from main battery under the bonnet to power amps in the boot run them on the opposite side to signal feeds.
That all sounds like a bit of a faff, I used to work on my own cars years ago, but being cranked over at 45 degrees now is more than my back can stand. If the update was any more expensive I would have given it a miss.
Today I popped in to MB at Marsh Barton, Exeter and spoke to one of their guys regarding an update for the map software on my COMAND online system. They will collect the car from where the wife works and return it on completion (£30 charge for this), plug the car into their STAR system and...
I was with Direct Line for around 9 years (about 4 years ago now), they sent through a renewal notice for a car that we had insured with them for a couple of years and their quote jumped up by £300 on the previous year, when I rang to ask them if they would reduce it to match other quotes I'd...
I received my car insurance renewal notice via email yesterday from The Halifax, It was going to cost me £458.28p, It would've been the first full years insurance on the C220 as I the car was purchased in January. I did the usual cast around on the meerkat site and "Quote Me Happy" came in at...
You have had one sh** week mate!
Glad to hear your wife appears to be ok but as someone else mentioned keep an eye out for signs of injury (sore knees, elbows, neck that kind of thing) because a sideways jolt may be masked at the moment.
Thankfully the third party admitted liability to the...
Hi Dean,
I have a C220 W205 sport premier plus saloon (2015) and it has the full panoramic roof with tilt/slide opening and electric roof blinds. I don't know if it's a trim level option or standard fitment across the range.
Thanks for this. My w205 drivers door handle external LED has packed up but is going back to the dealer for warranty replacement on Friday. It's interesting to note that the retaining screw on the door edge is captive, it'd be a nightmare to drop it into the door.
