I used to have one of those about 15 years ago! One of the best Mercs I had - another I shouldn't have sold - but I had been promised to be able to buy the Coupe Version which was the reason I sold it but when I went to collect the chap had sold it to someone else and omitted to let me know - I...
Concerning locking the car, you can push down the locking post on the passenger side and then lock the car with the on the driver's side. This locks the car without the Alarm Initialised. Then of course you can use the key again to unlock it, but seeing as the Alarm is already off you can just...
Also I believe that they have some sort of Condenser or Capacitor in them rather than a Battery that can leak and cause a Short Circuit, which maybe why your Fuse keeps Blowing. The other thing it can cause is intermittant false alarms and funny squeaks....
On the Alarm Siren, they have a built-in Battery so as not dependent on the car's own Battery. Over time they just go flat. As I understand it it is not a replaceable item so the Siren has to be changed.
My S500 had the same problem. I only inadvertantly found out when I set the Alarm off but...
Sorry to hear that. I should have told you that once you have it up and secured do not lower it again before you get it checked.....
Keep us informed just in case someone else has the same issue. But I would definitely say a Sensor issue. Check the Fuse again though.
As far as I know the Pump should run without the Engine running, just Ignition on. As you know, it's on the Boot. I think on the right hand side looking from the rear. (but I could be wrong there).
This is the method I follow. And I've done it on nearly all of my Mercs having the 722.6 Transmission.
I firmly believe the less you fiddle with and disturb the better! "Keep it Simple"!
1) Get yourself some good ATF. I use Fuchs Titan 4134. (2x4lts). A new Filter and Rubber Seal.
2) Get...
Sorry for the late response.
I only suggest this only because a few years ago I went to purchase a w209 CLK and the lady took me for a drive but stopped afer awhile and retracted the Roof, which worked 100%.
But then the typical British weather decided to dampen the day so we quickly stopped...
Well I disagree with Michelin's statement to a certain degree.
On Nokian Tyres they have two Warning Marks. One being the "Legal" Minimum Depth and another a "Recommended Wet Minimum Depth" shown as a Water Droplet Symbol. This being 3.5mm. As the Tyre wear the Numbers disappear.
See Video.
I agree with Malcolm210 100%!
I once bought a car with 3 differing brands on it - all good and the same size - but within a month I went and bought 4 new matching tyres.
To me it'd like watching someone who's left-handed try to do something that requires some degree of dexterity! I can't watch!
Yeah, but how did it break?! You know what Mercs are like, they have almost redundant wiring for everything!
I will look but to be honest rather than stripping down interior trim I'll just live with it....
