Greetings, MB hive-mind. Two days ago I got a 'SOS Inoperative' message on my dash when starting the car (E350 Diesel).
The car was serviced a few months ago by MBS (Southampton) and shows no other problems. I opened the safety cover on the SOS button and closed again to make sure it wasn't...
Not an alignment issue, but a double-badging one: Four years ago when I picked up my low-mileage second-hand E350 Bluetec it had a gunsight on the bonnet as well as the enormous radar-housing roundel on the front bumper. The kind advice from the forum corrected my ways and after a quick sniff...
Welcome! Is that E350 petrol or diesel? Also, where are you based? There's a fair few of us on the South Coast who would heartily recommend MBS in Southampton as a reputable indy.
I was just wondering if the gearbox software made it lumpy when it needed a service to persuade you to take it to the dealer.
I'd never use an MB dealer myself. MBS all the way.
Today, I considered booking my overdue 9G-tronic gearbox service. Then the central heating failed and the garage informed me that my wife's A3 was due a cambelt change. Expensive month.
Gearchanges are really feeling lumpy now. Is that a symptom of old oil or do they mess about in the software...
I'm slightly concerned about my front disks/pads as they got a caution on my last MOT that they'd need doing within 5000 miles, which I haven't done, but they really don't look right. MBS in Southampton said they could do them for about £600... I can't remember if that was front and rear or just...
I did test the mpg over a few runs to the office (Southampton <> Cambridge) and any differences are down in the noise. Maybe I'm not using the extra power often enough. Insurance went up about £50, which for me is roughly 10%
I looked at DMS but had the feeling they were just going to re-map using a standard 'tuned' map rather than actually getting in there and tweaking it. Also, GAD are able to do a full read before writing so all the engine codes stay the same rather than being set to the same numbers as every...
I'm weeping at some of the numbers quoted above. E350 CDi and I have to declare it is tuned because I am rather risk averse and, you know, the law and stuff.
£600 minimum. I've not been offered a refund due to CV-19 and I'm not asking for one, because it might draw their attention and they'll...
Found them... genuine AMG Night Edition wheels. The code A2124010400 comes up a lot as well as ET54 and others.
They were originally diamond cut, or surface polished, or something to give the shiny-front face look.
Example here: Flea-bay
At £400 a go I'll be looking after them, then...
I think this is corrosion under the lacquer on the wheels. You can't scrape it off without using something metal. As mentioned, it looks like a fatter version of the corrosion trails I get on my brake and gear levers on my lacquered alloy bits on the push bike... only they are sweated on many...
I've searched for this topic and found a few from last year; thought I'd check if things have moved on a bit or if DC wheels with gloss black & bare metal lacquered finish on the faces where always a **** idea.
The wheels were pretty much perfect when I got the car just over a year ago. Now I'm...
Congrats on your accidental purchase and welcome to the madness.
E350CDI here and a big fan of the white with pano roof colour scheme, as you'll see over there <---
Why did I find myself on autotrader looking at my E350 value and the cost of a comparable E400... ?
