    M113k Cooling system's Achilles heel

Hello, After a s211 and a c218, I recently went back to another c219 v8 and this time to the 55amg model. Car came with few issues, one was a leaking a/c system. System was refilled with the dye and after few days and some visual checks it was found that the a/c condenser needed swapping. Now...

    285/30/19 is it an overkill?

Just a quick update in regards to the weight differences. I was surprised to see that front ones are just 0.5kg lighter than the rear ones. I am talking for the total actual weight of the alloy with the tyre on so the total wheel weight. both axles have Falken fk510 front wheel 8.5*19 + 255/35...

    285/30/19 is it an overkill?

Personally, whenever I changed my tyres to a wider set of tyres I have been always seen a decrease on mpg (so increase in fuel consumption) on the motorway. Most recent examples that I have were with 2lt engines, a petrol bimmer from 205 to 225 and a diesel bimmer from 205 to 255. Same...

    285/30/19 is it an overkill?

Here is the difference between front and rear wheel (alloys and tyres) , as a graph. With the rear's et48 , even though they are 9.5j, rear tyres edges seem to be at the same line with the front ones..

    285/30/19 is it an overkill?

Thank you all for your contribution and your thoughts. The best "trick" that Mercedes did in the past was to use different offsets when producing the c219 cls500. Fronts were et28 and rears et18. All came with same width so you had same tyres at all corners. This was you had a staggered look...

    285/30/19 is it an overkill?

Hi, I recently purchased for my daily car (even though due to the situation I am working from home more than a year now) a 13 plate c218 CLS 350 AMG Sport. Car is looking great and drives great too, better than my ex c219 500 (which I still believe is a better looking car) and my s211. Till now...

W211 Estate Parktronic Failure front and rear

Exactly that, it's a mud trap that lip on the bottom of the rear bumper. In order to unplug the outer right sensor I probably had to remove first a full bag of mug from that spot. There are rubber covers behind each sensor to keep most of the dirt away from them but still the quantity of trapped...

    Abs fault

That's a very good price for both rear rings. This week, I paid £200 for just the one ring (rear right) at a Merc specialist, area Herts. I tried for few quotes from a general garage and from another independent Merc but both said they don't have a special tool needed for the job.

    Abs fault

Hi again, yesterday I took my e320cdi from the independent Merc garage near my area. Its the one I have been visiting in the past for my ex CLS500 too. Job done, fault has gone after the replacement of the magnetic ring on the rear right corner. Labour and part including vat cost me £200, I...

    Changed my E320cdi Glow Plugs

Thanks to this great thread and all the valuable info within various posts I finally found time today and replaced my glow plugs too. I followed the "instructions" so had already purchased the Plusgas spray and within the week I sprayed all of them few times. Same today before my 45' drive to...

    Abs fault

An update from my side, replaced the rear right abs sensor, as indicated from icarsoft, went for a drive. Failure is still there, tried to delete it few times but after the first 20metres it comes back. So probably is the magnetic ring and don't believe I will be able to do it myself. Any...

    Abs fault

Hi, Faults won't stop for me, bad luck I believe with my s211. At least they are minor ones and easily fixable. I was planning to replace my glow plugs today but yesterday my abs/esp failure light came on my instrument cluster. So change of plans for today. Icarsoft advised the rear right speed...

    320 CDI Engine Probs

Thank you I will have a look into the link. If not mistaken, oil pan has 8.5lt capacity and this is the recommended amount. At least in the w211/s211 with the om642. I should have written before 4.5 and 4.0, my mistake.

    320 CDI Engine Probs

Didn't know that. What reason would be to suggest pouring 4litres from the filler and other 4litres through filter housing? I can understand to suggest for example 1lt through filter housing but half the quantity? Please advise

    E320 CDI - G3/2 O2 sensor upstream

Thanks for all this info, really appreciate it. Bought the car in October when I sold my cls500 (to pay for my new Howdens kitchen). First things I did within first week were oil+filter change, air filters, fuel filter, cabin filter, crankcase breather and a refurbished turbo actuator (with a...

    E320 CDI - G3/2 O2 sensor upstream

Believe it or not I spent time in here looking for om642 oxygen sensor or lambda sensor and couldn't find something for e320cdi. Of course I was doing it wrong apparently. Maybe was searching based on upstream message..

    E320 CDI - G3/2 O2 sensor upstream

Hi, Car is a 2007 s211 e320 CDI with Euro4 specs. No EML no limp mode but my icarsoft was reading an engine fault in regards to the lambda oxygen sensor. Message of fault was the "G3/2 O2 sensor upstream of Cat" . In reality, the car has only one lambda sensor and is downstream of the catalyst...

Hi I am costas from London

Sometimes it has to do with the driver's driving style too. I had for about 3 months a leased Volvo V40 d4 and was doing about 40mpg. A colleague of mine with same car bought from new and same mileage and year (17 plates) was doing 28mpg. But he never bothered with the car by checking tyre...
