Change mine for the first time yesterday at work ( I own a parts shop ) pulled it out and was surprised to find a denso cabin filter all stamped up with merc part numbers . Played about with those numbers trying to get another original denso because it had a plastic surround and fitted nicely...
Is there any number on the old filter if so I can cross reference for you and give you a work able part number or if you give me the vin I can check what was originally fitted at factory
Any advice on parking up a car that is on the road everyday due to this virus . Is it worth filling fuel tank for condensation, rotating tyres , covering car or sun shade , filling tank with usual millers ecomax or not , any other advise or just leave to rot
Think I’ve been worrying for nothing I’ve since found out the nox sensor problem is on cars with add blue that’s what customer services said earlier on , at the same time as confirming my car does need a diesel emissions software update
Thanks for the reply my car has now been serviced by myself so is out of warranty and dosnt have full dealer service history that’s why I think it’s to hot to handle given the sensors are a grand
Hi all , just checking I’m not jumping ship to soon .
I’ve a b class 2017 2.2 diesel that I’m not wanting to have the software update but I’m also worried after reading on another merc forum ref some kind of nox sensor that are faulty . Not sure if this fault regarding the sensor is on my car...
What happens if and when I get a letter for a recall you just ignore it , I don’t intend on ever taking my car back to dealers as I can service it myself or go to a independent for stuff I can’t do
From now onwards will be servicing my own car where possible and things I can’t do will go to local indi , cancelled my service plan when I first read posts about this back in December, car goes out off warranty in March and cars already booked in for mot at indi and changed oil and filter early...
Thanks for all the reply’s , after doing some maths using the full price rac quote and my local merc specialist £220 for a A service it’s £3 a month dearer getting a 4 year service plan . So I’m thinking of taking out a service plan
Thanks just waiting on a call back from a Mercedes independent garage , got a quote off £140 from rac I’m tempted by the rac with them having the merc breakdown contract and I’m assuming they have some kind of knowledge or software ( fully aware this could be wrong or get cheaper elsewhere)
Hi , does the merc break down cover only come as part off a service plan or do customers qualify if they book in for a service without a service plan , hope that makes sense , thanks eddie
