Thanks for the replies. I must say I am surprised that everyone is reporting back similar distances to get their cars up to normal temperature. I am sure my C-class warmed up faster but only because I never noticed this as an issue before as opposed to actually measuring it.
Yeah, the car is...
Another question about my new GLB.
About a fortnight after collecitng the car I noticed that it was warming up very slowly. It takes a full seven miles of A and B road driving at speeds up to 70mph for the car to reach the normal operating temperature of 90 degrees. If during that time I have...
So MB have had my car in today and unsurprisingly concluded that nothing is wrong with the camera. Interestingly, when I booked the car in and had to re-describe the issue, I mentioned the persistent patch of "something" that remains in front of the camera and got the reply "That's normal but...
AC works and the system is set to auto. Cabin temp is set to 22 degrees both sides. The screen demists fine just not this little bit right in front of the camera.
So, MB are finally going to take my car in for a look but I thought this was interesting enough to share:
On top of behaving pretty randomly during normal driving, I have noticed that as soon as the outside temprature gets to zero, all my ADAS functions (speed limit assist, active braking and...
Well, as I said it fixed itself after being switched off all day so right now there's nothing for my dealer to fix. I was asking in case there is a faster way to reboot the system to fix this if it should happen again in the future.
...and profile updated :)
Today I had the MBUX infotainment system freak out on my brand new GLB. The symptoms were:
Radio screen graphics corrupted (no background "art", no volume slider animation, station presets not animating correctly).
Would not recognise my connected USB stick.
No bluetooth phone connection.
No...
That's pretty much how I saw it on my B and C. Very different behaviour on my GLB, though. Anyway, I gave my dealership a rundown on what it was doing after two weeks of ownership and it is going to be booked in so they can look at it.
Yes that's the next step. I only got the GLB a few days ago so I am still getting used to it. I did test drive one prior to buying but cannot recall how ABA behaved on that.
I have tested it as far as I feel safe doing but only so far as to make the light come on. No flashing or beeping an certainly no actual braking. Even with my presumably terrible driving, I only had ABA actually kick in to stop the car once or twice in the last 6 years as far as I can recall...
I'm now on my third MB car with Active Brake Assist. The first was a 2016 B Class, then a 2019 C Class and I just changed to a 2022 GLB with MBUX (the other two were Comand).
On the B and C I used to get the "first stage warning" for brake assist quite a lot (probably not something to be proud...
@Botus
I'm perfectly aware that a car with ADAS must have the camera re calibrated after a screen replacement. There aren't exactly a zillion different widescreen replacement companies out there so what is one supposed to do when they - for whatever reason - state that can't do the job they...
Hi. I didn't know that was an option. I will definitely ask my insurance company next time if the screen can be fitted at the main dealer. The first time with Autoglass I insisted on a genuine MB screen when it wouldn't calibrate properly initially.
Pretty angry with my local MB dealer right now.
I have had my C-class from new for almost three years and during that time I have needed two new windscreens. This has always case a headache with the subsequent ADAS camera re calibration. The first time (Autoglass) they said they assumed it was...
I got a message on my Android phone this morning saying that the Mercedes Me App appeared to be "infected" and should be uninstalled. I'm pretty sure this is a false alarm as it did seem to update recently but as I hardly ever use it I uninstalled it anyway.
Anyone else seen this?
I use the built in MB voice control on my C class to make and receive calls on my BT connected Android phone, but occasionally I like to be able to use other Google Assistant functionality like sending and reading text messages, accessing my calendar, etc.
Until a couple of weeks ago I could...
OK, that all sounds plausible. By the way, you do know you can impart this information without telling me I am an idiot for simply switching off my AC in every single reply, don't you?
Anyway, as I said right from the get-go I had figured out this was something to do with misting even if the...
