glc tailgate door issue

I have just (June 2023) taken delivery of a new GLC220d AMG Line Premium Plus car and the kick action to open the tailgate doesnt work. I have spoken to the dealer and been told that this feature has been discontinued. It is however still in the instruction manual Has anyone else come across this?
