£100 A CLASS

Well my 100 pound a class made it back to france laden wid de xmas stuff without major issue . one thing i found was it would not kick down when required, forcing me to use tiptronic which was ok . so yest i put it on my star. wow!!! three pages of fault codes . P1617,P18752 2001,2010 just to mention a few, so i saved those pages and cleared all. 1 remained which i was advised by star i could ignore, happily done just that .now about 5o k of driving ,kick down normal and seems to drive just fine. engine could do with timing chain ,which i will do in march april . dont get much in way of spares for 100 so consider the effort worthwhile

i wish!! i gave him 100 for it. i did put 4 tyres on it, they were about.and lovellys a class will need later this yr so thought it best to re boot it whilst in uk .oh it had a yrs mot as well. though one knows that only means anything on day and at moment of test..and it came with its c of c in the glove box, i am tempted to ct it here in france and see if it will run around for a yr or two to get a better idea of whats reliable and what is not, but i did buy it for bits in reality..

its a £100 car with an MOT. Whats not to like???? bangernomics at their best. and when something fails, you either keep it as a donor or scrap it (and probably get at least SOME of the £100 back either way) and its job done! (and if you need to replace it, find another for similar money, if you can!)

now anyone know of a decent kit car based on the w208 my 2001 is still in great nic,but worth almost nothing, if i can find a kit i might build something that MIGHT be worth something when done .
