Hi

I am trying to replace the MAF on an E200 Estate Kompressor Year 03
Model 211.242

I have removed the Air filter lid and the filter and the 2 screws from the MAF and the electrical connector but it seems like there is a third screw or something holding it attached.
I dont want to tug too hard in case it is connected

Is there another fixing in there somewhere?

Thanks
Richard

E200 maf

Getting yellow engine light coming on and off intermittantly
Also, rev counter is hunting particularly after startup and I also experience a slight loss of power when driving - like its just not running well.
Mechanic says that the codes from the engine are saying its lean burn

They are a tight push fit in the duct tubes.

What happens when the MAF goes out of spec is that the O2 sensor tries to compensate and adjust the mixture, and it is this that puts the lamp on.

You can buy the MAF from Bosch service centers for about £150 if you unscrew the sensor from your own casing then it can be bought for £57

Alex Thanks
I guess the third one is hidden
Will take a look again to see how to get at it.

E200 maf

Cant get access to the third screw at all
Seems to be covered by a plastic tube that leads to a star screw holding the air filter box onto the body
Any ideas how to access the third screw?

E200 maf

Hi Malcom

Thanks for the picture
There are 2 screws on the MAF itself and one on the housing
I removed the screw on the housing leading away from teh air filter and 1 on the maf but the bottom one on the maf is inaccessible. The MAF is mounted so that 1 scre is at 2 o clock and the other at 8. its the one at 8 that I cant figure how to get at. Maybe I need to start on the pipe at the clip at 80
The diagram here is not exactly like my engine

good luck with that spring loaded clip - it is a swine without the right clamping tool. i think though that it is the right way to go, and you will be ok if you have nimble fingers, patience and some good long nose locking pliers or similar.
