Hi,

I have only had the car just over a week and its been raining nearly every day since then :(, so I did not take much notice when I parked up hearing a drip of water hit the exhaust somewhere under the car, however today it was dry and I heard it again.

Paying more attention I notice after I park it seems like there are just 3-4 drips about a minute apart then nothing, looked in the engine bay and undser the car but could not see anything obvious, possibly its around the back of the engine somewhere, I don'yt have air-con so its not that.

Coolant may have dropped very slightly over the last week, but not sure.

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Update - found roughly where its coming from, Good news is its not dripping on the exhaust but on the engine casing near the exhaust and no obvious signs of corrosion, bad news is the drip is right at the back of the engine coming from the something on the bulkhead to the cabin, I suspect its the heater, I can't even fit my hand in there to feel it, looks like it could be a real bugger to get at :(

Try the pipes going to the heater matrix .Also try the drain holes are not blocked at each side of the outer bulkhead.Check the water that is leaking to see if it is rain water or coolant.

landover, thanks for your reply and suggestions.

Outer bulhead holes look clear either side, though some rainwater still on right, Is there possibly some drainage in the middle also ?

Collected bout an eggcup of water overnight, seems to be ater , not coolant, heres a pic with area drip is coming from circled.

:) Confirming, it finally dried up today, It was rainwater, obviously some water can get trapped right under the mid part of the windscreen and take a few days to drain away after heavy rain.

Relief to know it was not a coolant leak, the good thing was it forced me to get the car up om ramps and take a good look under the engine, it looks really spotless, apart from some corrosion on one exhaust bracket which I wire-brushed and covered with copper grease.

Thanks landover for the replies
